Watched several Star Wars spin off series :

The Acolyte 10/10
Star Wars Skeleton Crew 10/10
Ahsoka 10/10

There is just nothing wrong with any starwars series.
Waiting full enthusiasm for the next seasons to appear.

Those spacewhales are mesmerizing.

Either this is dripping sarcasm or you and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Ahsoka started off good and nosedived. 5/10
Acolyte is everything wrong with Disney owning it. -10/10
Skeleton Crew 6.5/10.

And randomly, Dredd may become a series, with Karl Urban

That would be great. I had a few Judge Dredd comics when i was young. And the story was unreal and dark , especially when all the mutants living outside of the megacity's huge walls, also are included.

Some movies are never going to be box office draws. Once it hit streaming it gained legions of fans. It also had to fight the battle of guilt by association with the first one.

Weirdly, one guy (the backstabber if anyone has heard my tale of woe on how he tried to transfer $1.5 million out of our company account) was fascinated by the scene where the girl gets into the bad guy's head. I was like, out of everything great in the movie, THAT'S what tickled your fancy???

I totally would watch a Karl Urban / Judge Dredd series.

Everything i said about Stallone being a better Dredd still stands - but i wouldn't watch a Stallone / Dredd series.

I'm excited. The reason it was random for me is I just watched Dredd for the first time in the last week. The timing was random. I'm ready Karl!
It ain't random. I've seen random movies within a few days of each other with the same actor in the supporting role and it made me go, "No way can this be a coincidence!". We get signs. Pity we can't decipher them.

Rob Schneider was fun though : Mr : "I am the luw"

The Sylvester Stallone movie version of Judge Dredd was fun.

But for a series, he is now to old. It would show. Karl Urban would be a good fit. But i sure hope the series will be better than the movie.

even if he was young.

Stallone's Dredd is comical, grotesque - and it needs to be, to match the comic.

Urban's Dredd is something else. It's not comical, it's not grotesque, it's too serious. Which is weird .. but not entirely bad. It's just that i feel a single Stallone / Dredd movie is the most that i can take of Dredd, but a single urban / Dredd film isn't enough. Stallone is a joke film, you have your laughs, you leave. With Urban's version of Dredd, i need more action, more scenes .. maybe even some character development.

The Firm (Sydney Pollack (director), Tom Cruise, Gene Hackman) 1993 7/10

Part of my personal Gene Hackman festival.

At 154 minutes it didn't strike me as too long, but I found some of the scenes toward the end confusing. Based on John Grisham best seller, they evidently took liberties with the book, hired 3 expensive script writers. I think Roger Ebert's review is spot on. He had difficulties with it toward the end too.

If the series will be like in the (colored in ) comics from the 1980s, it will be similar to "The boys" series. Lots of mutants outside the walls. Corruption inside megacity. And a whole range of characters.

I'm so-so about Andor S2 coming up, can they really keep up the quality of content.

The only thing I would really want from the Star Wars franchise now is for the people who wrote the Andor series to have a crack at the KOTOR storyline, and cast an actress capable of making the most of the character 'Kreia'.

I watched The Last of Us s2e1 last night and thought it was awesome. I did play the games though so I know what happens and everything.

I am very curious to see how they do something in either the next episode or the following one.

The casting on Abby is much different than I expected. The casting for Dina is perfect though.

On Season 3 of My Life is Murder. (Private Investigator show)

I always liked Lucy Lawless in Xena and BSG and Spartacus.. but she's good in this show again!

Love her quips in the show like she meets her neice for the first time and says to the neice.. Yep you're my niece alright.. you got the sarcasm gene. Welcome to the family!

7/10 for the show.. 9.5/10 for Lucy's performance!

The Killing Season 1 - This is an American based crime drama that takes place in Seattle but it is based upon a Dutch series which is known as one of the best Scandinavian noir shows. I mean I loved it. This is all just a very dark and brooding slowly evolving burn - no car chases or shootouts or any of the standard American detective series mechanisms. I mean you just get into the characters, the story, it's heartbreaking, it's intense - it all works because the characters are interesting and acted very well.

So season 1 ends on a cliffhanger and has a season 2, just like the Dutch series. The Dutch series has three seasons, the American one has four, although the last season is short.

Starting season 2 and really hoping it is as good, if not better, than season 1.

Highly recommended. I wanted to watch the original Dutch one but the only way I found to stream it had such a shitty quality dubbed version only I couldn't take it after half of the first episode. It was so bad.

dude, you haven't even given season 2 a change to start before you are already kind of shitting on it lol

I am optimistic that it will be very good. It leads up right to the movie rogue one, super cool. Also, the fact they kept the series at just having a second season and that's it is very telling - it means they didn't try to stretch a successful show thin into many seasons. They stayed true to the vision, and from what I've heard, they let those that made the show continue to do it their way.

This is a rare Disney star wars show I think it's more safe than not to look forward to.

I'll likely give it a try, as I've said before it's the diamond in the rough of the SW franchise.

IMO it's not telling that it's been given the green light for S2, it just means the management looked at the viewing figures and concluded that it will likely help bring in more money. Likely the same management guilty of greenlighting a lot of SW dross (e.g. Ahsoka... S2?!?). Did the writers want to write S2 for artistic reasons, or is it a paycheque, or were they somehow obliged to agree to it (contractual obligations for example). In the history of TV, many series have been given the green light for more seasons even though they should have been discontinued long before, and many series have been cancelled before their time.

As far as I'm concerned, if Andor stopped at S1 then the series has already told a good prequel story and can lead straight into Rogue One. I don't really need it to continue. There aren't any unanswered questions as far as I'm concerned, no loose ends.

Andor was originally intended to last 5 seasons. That's why the first season takes place 5 years before Rogue One.

I liked the first 4 or 5 Grisham books, most of which became movies. I stopped reading as he ran out of compelling material. A Time to Kill, Pelican Brief, and The Firm are all good films IMO. They hit the major points at the end of the Firm. But if you hadn't read the book I can see how it would be a bit muddled.

Last of Us S2 E2 - 7/10

I knew they killed Joel. There was a big enough uproar about it when the game came out that I could not avoid it. My feed had vids with titles like THEY KILLED JOEL! The town getting attacked is what I expect from a zombie show. Can't have nice things for very long because that's boring. Strong game of thrones vibes for me this episode. I'll play the game when the price on PC comes down, just as with the first.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out. We named our latest rescue kitten Xena. I thought Lucy was outstanding in Spartacus.
