Very nice. It reminds me of the old G4 Cube, but without the insane price tag. Hell, I just might have to get one of these for myself, and I HATE most Apple products.

Looks pretty fvcking good!

I paid more for my PSP with 2 games and delivery 😛

Hmmm...I think I'll wait until you can up the ram and the HD to something bigger without them doing it. Someone will crack it sooner or later hopefully.

The iPod Shuffle will probably sell but NO WAY in hell would I buy something like that. I need a screen and be able to pick what I want to listen to and not just shuffle play. I'd also like a remote on my headphone like the Sony ones on my MD!

Koing

I was thinking about a mini, but after adding all the options I wanted, it's too expensive for my taste just to learn the Mac system 🙁

Chicken of the VNC. don't ask me why it's called that.

To answer your question (I wasn't too clear in my first answer) Yes, there are a couple VNC server apps and clients available for Mac OS X.

One thing they did was to have an external psu/brick. The OP stated that none of the parts are user upgradeable. Even the Espresso/Capuccino PC was upgradeable IIRC.

The Mac mini is looking more and more like a laptop w/o the lcd, kb, mouse.

And by none of the parts, they mean the RAM too.... bizzare.

I believe it is called VNC thing. Click on the OSX tab on apples page and then on downloads. Better yet, here.

I used that to turn the stereo off (pc using winamp) from my powerbook when my old roommates were throwing parties when i had tests the next day. Worked great. The last time i used it was a year ago, but i will post what i used if i can find it.

update: that was fast...vnc thing

Raynorwolfe:its not really obsolete since they are only using g4 chips in their laptops now, but yeah a g5 would be even better.

For those looking for a tv recorder for the mac, their is one made by el gato. Just google it. I think it is the first link that comes up.

Support Intel Celeron CPU=lose.

no, it supports it...but you can put a regular pentium 4 in there as well... 🙂

plus it supports 2 GB ram: woohoo!

it's also thinner and narrower than the mac mini

yes, it is ugly, but being able to put XP on it is a big plus 😀

This would make a sweet media center for viewing. Unfortunately, no capturing ability.

That said, I want one of these.

Wouldn't it be better to get one of those shuttle pcs?

$200 case/mobo
$100 athlon 2400+
$100 radeon 9500
$50 hd
$50 dvdrw

Uh, I think you can do A LOT MORE on XP then ANY OSX distro/system combo. Having that little box as your computer would be awesome.

Uh..sure you can "do more" because of the wide usage/support of windows..but if you have used OSX for a period of 1hr or longer on a decent Mac, you would understand.

Ok, thats simply not true. Be specific when you say you can do a lot more on XP than any OS X distro/system combo, so people would at least know what you are talking about. Dont say there is more software on Windows, because I will certainly prove you wrong. 😉
