Is there some kind of session control software between PC and Mac so I can have it be completely headless and controlled from a PC workstation?...

i will buy one in july for sure ! :)

It took them long enough. I hate Apple. But I've wanted to learn Mac OS/Unix for a while now. Even when checking out open box iMacs during clearance sales, they ran for $800+. I am not paying $800 for an outdated Mac just to learn an OS.

But $500 for a new machine with a great small form factor that I can hook up to a KVM? I am all over that.

precisely, i can add some skills for a reasonable price

Another question, are there any comparable flash MP3 players on the market to this thing??
Creative makes one, it's essentially a USB thumb drive that hooks into another player that has the controls/possible LCD on it.

I think it's the Muvo something, I seem to remember it being fairly cheap. Only real downside is that it's two pieces, but if there's an LCD on it that'd be a plus.

I speed-read the thing on apple's site, seems like there is some way to have it not play randomly.

The slider switch on the back toggles between "random" and "in order" play. No way to intentionally select a song that I can see though except by ticking through each previous one.

It does have an AGP 4x slot with a Radeon 9200.

Any idea of a SFF mobo could be transplanted into it?

The Cube returns in half the size. Hmmm... only G4 processor. No optical audio out.

For the price there isnt any competition to the 1GB shuffle. Its $20-30 cheaper than most competitors and IMHO has better styling even though it doesnt have a tiny LCD screen.

But most flash players have LCD, so you can see what artist/album/track's playing. Could be very frustrating when you have to scroll through hundreds of tracks (or dozens of albums) blind.

Then again, when I am biking, I can't look at the screen at all. Interesting product....somewhat lacking, but with a marketing team like theirs, it will sell.

Nice. I'm buying one. First mac in 8 years. Last one I owned was a Performa 6200. I then went the PC route after that. I've been waiting to get a mac as a second computer since OSX came out.

Those are awesome. All my windows iPod friends will probably love this. They all want Macs, but say the price point is too high. This would be perfect for them.

What form factor would fit? I doubt mATX would. FlexATX? Mini-Itx would fit, I guess, but the Epia chips aren't for gaming.

I wonder if the P4 Mini-Itx boards could be cooled effectively.

The SFF fans are probably drooling over this. Like me, for instance. :D I'm seriously considering selling my Epia Mini-Itx system to help pay for this.

Man that Mac mini is so nice!!!!:D

However, to spend 500 bucks when I have a computer right next to me doesn't make much sense for me at this point in time.

Seems like the Mac Mini is missing TV-out of some sort (we don't all have TVs that support DVI, and those of us that do probably don't need to buy a low-end Mac for a media-center PC :) ). It would otherwise make a super-sweet media center computer, IMO.
