Some of our fibre in Quebec got burnt by the fire but we managed to get it fixed and brought service back. So far we have not lost anything major to the fires but we've come very close. Totally unrelated to fires but we also had someone steal a large section of fibre and it took out a few towns. Been interesting this week that's for sure. It's weird how the air is 100% clear now though, all the smoke is going south.

I remember certain American Indian tribes used to burn the underbrush (probably not a controlled burn) to aid in hunting. At least in the US. Don't know about Canadian tribes.

Had a few strong but brief thunderstorms pass through earlier and the smoke smell is 95% gone! :D

That was getting ugly!
