But for those of you that understand my situation, Thank you. As i said, i work in a very heavily federal regulated industry. Our false promises can lead to very big and heavy fines. Im just wondering if the Aviation industry has any sort of things. If they dont, then oh wellz, i guess it ends at the BBB and comsumist.com report.
And i have never lost my luggages on AA, or United. At most i've lost my free bag of peanuts because i was sleeping during the flight.
They are heavily regulated, but that doesn't address bags that are misrouted for under 24 hours. Unfortunately for you this works against you, as in their minds they fulfilled their contract with you by getting you to your destination.
CPA is right, your best bet is dealing with the airline themselves rather than the FAA or BBB. When calling try not to get bent out of shape. You feel you were wronged, but remember it wasn't the person on the other end of the line who wronged you. State your case simply without getting dramatic and ask for whatever you feel you are entitled to, or ask what sort of compensation they can offer. Elevate your call as needed, but try and remain calm and stick to only the necessary facts.
Good luck.
