So i was on a business trip to North Carolina. We were heading back to Los Angeles, on a connecting flight though Cincinatti.

The plane had delayed takeoff, and i was sitting wondering what was wrong with the delay. I look out the window and i noticed 2 of my lugages were being removed. I imediately lunged at the door and asked What the hell they were doing. The Delta employee stated there was a weight issue on the plane so they had to take the lugage off.

Now i counted a total of 4 lugages which couldnt total to more then 80-90 lbs. My 2 suit cases were exactly 28lbs and 17lbs each. The other 2 i saw were close to the same weight unless they filled them with lead.

I told the employee that there was senstive items inside the plane which required IMEDIATE attention once i arrived in LA. The Delta airlines employee stated that dont worry Sr, your lugage will get to LA b4 you will though a different flight.

I then asked the delta worker, can you promise me that? he said with a smile, yes sir, i will gaurentee that. I work in the industry where if a worker promises something, the company must hold that promise or offer some sort of compensation. NASD.

Now i get to Cincinatti, and goto customer support. They tell me that the lugages were on the plane with me. Now, how the hell can that be when i saw them pull my lugages off? So i once again told them the story at Cincinatti, and the Cus. Rep. there said, dont worry sir, if they promised you that, it will get there.

7 hours later, i get to LA. Guess what? NO luggages. Now my items which were PROMISED TWICE, never got there. Okey, i we were a bit pissed, and asked the clerk, can you have it sent to us by 12pm. I told them of the promise there company made twice, and they said they would work hardest to meet that promise. Okey, last chance from me.

We got a call today, our lugages arrived at 10am, my secretary is now stuck in Oaklahoma. And which im guessing our lugages was in atlanta on her flight, came B4 my secretary. She was suposed to be here last night, but got held up because of a delay. She had to spend the night alone without any coworkers in Atlanta.

We contacted coporate, and my mom got into a heated arguement with CR. I then took the phone because they told my mom to learn how to speak english. She has a slight korean accent, but if she can conduct multi million dollar life insurance contracts with amercians, I think her english is quite good.

In short, i know i can report this incident to the BBB, because i have witness on the plane who heard the promise. No i wasnt dumb about this, And also i need more roads to follow to ensure they get whats coming.

Anyone know what other roads i can goto? Do i get the FAA involved in this as well?

Thanks for listening to my rant, and thank you for any advice given.

Your mom?

I'm confused. Do you two work for the same company? Why would she call and chew butt for you?

Do you really think that the FAA cares about your lost luggage?

No, but they might care about the promise they made, which they broke twice. I have witness who heard this promise as well.

Mostly Perishables cleared at the check-in window which are good for 10 hours because there VAC sealed.

The FAA doesn't give a shit about your lost luggage. Keep calling them but be polite and calm but be sure to stress the importance of your luggage, in the future do NOT check anything that you absolutely need.

If they keep jerking around, you could probably threaten to sue them for a racial harassment towards your mother with the "learn to speak english" comment...

I don't think the FAA would be involved on this, but the BBB definitely would be. If your luggage is damaged (you said sensitive items), you might be able to file some sort of claim against Delta, especially if you had a witness who heard you discussing it with an employee.

IMO, The #1 rule of flying is don't ever put anything in checked baggage you would have a problem with never seeing again in this lifetime.

Uh, I think its luggage.

Delta has always been good to me, and my dad, who flies for business quite a bit.

We always get free tickets on our trips, and they always treat us respectfully. We always get to use the lounges, and he gets bumped up to first class sometimes.

What were these sensitive items?

Verbal promise from airline staff = less than worthless

Next time carry it on or ship it w/dry ice.

Don't Worry, Be Happy
From the Movie "Cocktails"
Performed by Bobby McFerrin

Here is a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy......

Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The land lord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy
Lood at me I am happy
Don't worry, be happy
Here I give you my phone number
When you worry call me
I make you happy
Don't worry, be happy
Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got not girl to make you smile
But don't worry be happy
Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy (now).....

There is this little song I wrote
I hope you learn it note for note
Like good little children
Don't worry, be happy
Listen to what I say
In your life expect some trouble
But when you worry
You make it double
Don't worry, be happy......
Don't worry don't do it, be happy
Put a smile on your face
Don't bring everybody down like this
Don't worry, it will soon past
Whatever it is
Don't worry, be happy :music:

BBB? Are you serious? A Fortune 500 company doesn't give a rat's ass about what the BBB has to say.

If you want some sort of satisfaction, the only thing you can do is call Delta's customer service and speak with a supervisor. You may get a free ticket or other small compensation, but that's about it.
