Phew! And here I thought it was another masturbatory psuedo-intellectual interlude from ArcadioGameSimulator.

What's the mater? You're jealous he's getting more attention then you are?

Frankly, you don't sound satisfied. Maybe a bit more masturbation would do you some good.

That MUST be it, I'm jealous of Arcadio! Do you realize how stupid you sound.

As for your helpful suggestion, just keep your mouth open in idiot outrage and I'll get right on it. ;)

Is that all it take to get you hard? A masculine, hairy opened mouth?

We will find out that Intel from the far future created the universe in a fluke experiment... which will forever repeat itself.

the platypus has a beak like a duck, a body like a sea otter, a tail like a beaver, venom like a snake, lays eggs like a reptile, and is warm-blooded like a mammal.

where's the intelligent design in that?

That was the one time when God did roll dice.

Positing an "intelligent creator" will always be a problem, even if there was "substantial proof"...

If the world was intelligently designed, then this implies we are currently in the "best of all possible worlds", since any creator with supreme intelligence would have designed a world that was as close to perfect as possible. However, as Voltaire showed, there is little evidence that we live in such as world. There is a lot of evil in this world. People suffer, animals suffer. Innocent people suffer mercilessly in the face of natural disasters, diseases, and crimes committed amongst ourselves. Even if you can argue that this intelligent creator has given us "free will" and that the downside is that people can freely act in evil and stupid ways, this still leaves other things like natural disasters, cancer, and death. Before modern science people used to think that bad things happened in nature because God was punishing us or teaching us a lesson, but now we know that nature is blind and tragic things happen arbitrarily, without good or bad intent.

Couldn't a supremely smart creator have figured out how to brings about all the goods things we enjoy in life without all the bad things that happen arbitrarily to innocent people?

So even if we did find proof of an "easter egg" that an intelligent creator left, what does this say about a creator who allows so much evil to come upon the innocent? Is this the best of all possible creators?

Whoa.... I didn't mean to cause a religion fight. My original post assumed God or an Intelligent Designer exists. I'm not trying to convince anyone that God exists. It's one of those "what if" scenarios.

What if humans were intelligently designed by some alien race to come change this planets chemical make up. Maybe all of our technology isn't genius, its just inevitable, and once we have changed this planet enough our alien ancestors will come clear us out and take over their new polluted paradise.

Why does a creator have to bring out the good? For all we know, our "creator" could be just some 26-dimensional being who got bored one day, pulled an all-nighter, and decided to build our universe as an experiment for his master's thesis on third dimensional behavior. Not too dissimilar to keeping a pet, so to speak. :)

People who keep ant farms or the equivalent don't think that much about accidentally creating a "natural disaster" for the ants. There's nothing inherent in building something that says it needs to be done optimally.

Our definition of suffering could be someone else's (as in, a god, the big bang, or oprah winfrey) definition of bliss.

Do you question your god? No.

So why would you be questioning Perknose?

Why did I immediately know this had to be an Arcadio thread?
