More specifically, she dated an ex-con, bought an A4 for him, let him dump her and KEEP THE CAR. Then, when he is about to be deported, feels back for his girlfriend and wants to help her out?

Ehhh....you could look at the upside, I suppose. Your GF ain't too bright, you should be able to get some nasty tricks out of her without much complaint. (OTOH, if you aren't that kind of guy - and I tend to think most of up here aren't - DUMP HER BEFORE SHE SUCKS YOU IN!!!! Girls who like 'bad guys' are never going to stay faithful to 'nice guys')

QFT++

Your life might be over already, and you'd never even know it! I mean, hell, even if you are convinced your girlfriend wouldn't lie to you about something like this - you think her old BF would tell HER the truth? He sounds like a right ass to me.

A few things to start...
1. Pull her credit reports - all of them. See if this guy has already screwed it up by not making car payments.
....
4. Talk to a lawyer to determine what your GF's potential liability is, and how she could go about extricating herself.

Forget helping this guy - your GF needs to cover her own ass at this point.

Until you put a ring on a finger, you have no obligation to anyone but yourself.

At this point, I would wash my hands of this girlfriend and be glad I dodged this bullet before it was too late.

As my mother always said when I was dating a girl - "This is as good as it gets." Before you're married, everyone is on their best behavior because they don't want to scare away a potential spouse. It's only going to get worse.

Run. Run like the wind. It's only a matter of time until you get roped into these peoples' shenanigans. Guilty by association.

Your GF is a proven liar, you yourself admit it. Therefrore you need to dump her and move on. Love is a two way street my friend and she could give a rats ass about you. She is not being honest adn the trust is gone.

I'd love to see her credit report, you honestly think a guy who's been in jail for 7yrs was making those car-payments on time? Sure.........

Yeah its gonna hurt like a MF'er but you need to move on and ditch the lying GF. If shes a perfect ten, hotter than Jessica Alba and her punany drips golden honey all the while you know when she turns 30 shes getting acces to a multi-million $ trust fund then I would stick around.

But if not, time to move on, your not loved and your'e the door mat in the relationship!

2nded especially on the dumping part and the test part.

Damn dude, your gf is fvcked, and so are you if you plan on staying with her. I hate to say this, but you need to cut your losses now. This guy is scum, and the fact that she still wants to help him speaks volumes!!!

Good luck.
I didn't follow the story very well... but AFAIK, how do you get arrested for something you did as a teenager? Statute of limitations doesn't apply? He was in jail for 7 years?? That really lost me. How do you go to jail for 7 years, then later get in trouble for something you did as a teen? Regardless, put your foot down. She either ignores him or loses you.

Isn't there a statute of limitations, that makes that story not possible?

EXACTLY! Thats what I was asking..but despite that my girlfriend still feels the need to help them out.

Sorry but I don't help criminals!
You didn't say what the guy is in for? And why the hell are they driving your girlfriends car?

Back when they were daying (which was 4 years ago) He has no status or bad credit to buy a car, so they put the car under her name. Later they broke up, he kept the car and he pays for the payment they moved on with their lives.

I don't know why he is in jail and my girlfriend doesnt either but only something he did when he was in his teen.
Someone has probably already menitioned this by now, but that is a mistake and a huge liability for your GF.
..
OK, I see it's been mentioned a few times already :) But how has he been able to insure a car that isn't even his, is that possible? Has she been obtaining insurance for the auto all this time too?

1) your GF already owns the car. it's in her name. it's her liability. drive over there with her and take it. now. your GF's credit will be destroyed if she doesn't protect herself. if she doesn't want the car or can't pay it off, then SELL it.

2) your GF is a sucker. that's better than selfish, probably, but it does mean that unless you step in and stop her, she's going to be taken advantage of (and already has been, judging by the car thing.

don't get me wrong, i feel badly for this woman's situation, but there are people who need help and people who take advantage. why doesn't this woman call her parents? or the guy's parents? this just reeks of fish.

OMGWTFBBQ what a mess!

RUN AWAY... if you're girlfriend is stupid enough to find herself in this situation... and stupid enough to perpetuate it, and put you second. Then she is stupid enough to do it again and again and again. This is a very very bad sign for the future of your relationship.

There HAS to be more to this than what has been posted. If she can't tell you what he's done, and why she wants to help ... drop the biatch. Trust is too important, and if she can't level with you (even if it is terrible), then forget about it. Plenty of fish in the sea.
