That was an awesome shot by Germany, saving the best for last, I guess. :)

Shame, I was hoping for a dream ticket of Poland and Ecuador qualifying from that group :(

That was a fantastic match. The Polish goalie was 2 minutes away from "Man of the Match" honors...

lol, Korea and France tied, but I think Korea got lucky. France, nor the fans contested that "goal" after that corner kick. It looked like a remarkable save, but it was behind the line, heh. I think France got robbed, but from that angle, and the speed of that play, it was almost impossible for the refs on the field to tell.

but, it was an exciting 2nd half.

France didn't even try to play in the 2nd half. They just tried to protect their lead while Korea turned up the firepower by putting 3 guys up front in the 2nd half. Korea just kept pounding the box from the right wing with Lee. Btw, Korean fans are nuts-great to see.

haha, i was at the World Baseball Classic at petco, and I was among the chanters. holy crap I was deaf afterwards. The drums and thundersticks and shouting hurt my ears. Even though the Korean baseball team lost like, 8-0 or something to Japan, the fans stayed until after the game, thanking the team for just playing. It was great.

There were 20,000 Korean fans in the Staples Center in LA watching the game... :Q

Anyone know what song is playing in the stadiums after each game?

It's sounds like the Village People's Go West, which is (of course) absurd...

how can you mention that goal without also mentioning the takedown by that french player of the korean player. he had him by the neck and spun him down. that was a clear red card violation.

if that had been called france might have given up 2 goals AND would be down 2 starters for the Togo game.

I'm pretty sure it is a version of Go West - no idea why though :D

Literally? Yes, FIFI intervened to ensure they would.

Figuratively? Not so sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled a win out of their asses...

Not looking likely at the moment - Swiss are 1-0 up already!

Wow, 2:0. Just a one goal difference would've been justified in my opinion. Too bad that France now has an easy game against Togo, because of Adebayor's two yellow cards. The game wasn't as good as it gets but significantly more entertaining than Switzerland vs France.

I hope Togo can raise their game and at least get a draw :D

Korea is definitely facing major pressure for their final group game against the Swiss.

yeah, shame as I'd like to see both sides go through

Well, if Togo wins, they both go through. Yeah, like THAT'll happen...

If Togo does manage to pull off the upset, Zidanes last game would have already happened denying him the chance to walk off the field to the crowds applause. (He is suspended for the Togo game for having 2 yellow cards...)
