So far, out of all the teams I picked I am 100% right. 8 out of 8 that are decided. But I have a feeling France is going to roll over and die in their last game and ruin my stats ;)
France and England are looking so much worse then any prediction.

Goooo GERMANY!

They looked fantastic in the first half yesterday. Rooney flat out scared the crap out of the Swedes. When he got tired (and came out) things fell apart it seemed...
The loss of Owen is harsh and means that Crouch has to step up big time.

I guess what I mean is that they look so much worse then anyone expected. I certainly was under the impression that this is the year they have a good shot at it. What they displayed in the first two games was horrid for the tallent they have. With luck swinging the other way they could have drawn both games even lost them.

They better step it up against Portugal. if they play as good or better then today England will have a hard time!

Well, Portugal will have to beat the loser of today's Argentina-Netherlands match and England will have to beat Ecuador for that game to take place, but I hear ya!

To be honest I don't think Crouch will start - he'll be a second half sub for Rooney now and England will play 5 in midfield

Group E will be decided later - will the USA get the win they need and how will the Italians react to the match fixing scandal which is due to be announced sometime during their game with the Czech Republic?

I think the USA has a tall order today as I fear Italy and Czech Rep will tie.

Well, our morning tv shows all have done a bit on the game, but there is not as much buzz as there was for the first game.

So will interest totally fall away if the US go out?

For weekday games at 10am? Yes.

The weekend games will get pretty good billing though...

And thus I depart from the internet for the rest of the day, so I can watch the games at home tonight in blissful ignorance of the results...

While the penalty was not a penalty it was certainly not the reason the USA lost. Again they didn't seem to quite get the urgency. Giving up a goal because of a lack of a clearance is a beginners mistake. But if the whole tournament you manage only four shoots on goal you are not playing at the right event. Too bad, the US media would have hyped the success so much that soccer here would have goten another boost. Now it will slip onto the sidelines again. :(

I can't wait for the Group G games today! France, South Korea and Switzerland - All are so hoping and convinced that they'll make it to the next round, yet one of these teams will face the big disappointment. France has 2 points less than Korea and Switzerland but it faces Togo, which is the weakest team of the group so far. The situation is so close I don't rule out the possibility that goal difference and the direct encounter rule will decide who qualifies.

Starting in 11 hours...

Damn, the US really stunk it up... :|

Apart from a moment of brilliance from Beasley and Dempsey, that was a pathetc display by a team that did not seem like it cared at alll...

Great for the rest of the world, the Super Bowl is still 100x more exciting.

If you take away the commercials every 4 minutes, the inane banter from the announcers and had non-stop action, yes i would agree that the SuperBowl is better. As it stands i'd take World Cup football over NFL
