Several of mine have already been mentioned: The Postman, Waterworld and Can't Hardly Wait.

There are two Pauly Shore movies I enjoy that most people hate: In the Army Now and Bio-Dome.

I like this topic, but am not remembering titles I'd like to list.

One I'll mention is that sometimes people disagree with how great a movie I think Planet of the Apes was (the original).

Another I think was amazing is Amalie, though I can't get anyone who has even seen it.

What? Amelie is awesome. As are all movies by that director :)

Why are so many people mentioning Can't Hardly Wait?

I find that strange because I think the movie is neither hated or loved. It's just a very forgettable teen flick in the sea of She's All That, Ten Things I Hate About You, etc.

No one even talks about the movie.

Not Another Teen Movie

I never hear about 'Not Another Teen Movie', but it is the best spoof movie ever done by leaps and bounds over the others. Actually its probably the only good one ever done, but i rarely meet anyone who has seen it.

Eraserhead
The Cable Guy
Harold and Maude
Brazil
Hero <- The one with Jet Li
Barton Fink
Blue Velvet
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Etc.

Actually, some of the above got really good reviews, but mainstream audiences disliked them.

I think The Cable Guy and Observe & Report are two of the funniest movies ever made.

I appreciated it for what it was, over the top eye candy with a flimsy story to justify it all. I have soft spot for global disaster movies.

I'll put my vote in with The Jackal with Bruce Willis. Nothing incredible about it, but for some reason I just enjoy it.

If you mean Amelie, then that movie is fantastic! They play it at the local Drafthouse theater every so often for their "Girly Night".

I thought The Cable Guy got good reviews when it came out? Most people I know like that movie.

Here is one that my wife likes, yet I think it's horrible, and anyone she makes watch it immediately hates her for it.

Gerry

It's just 2 guys walking in the desert for 1 1/2 hours. I have never been so bored watching a film. The wife loves it though for some reason.

It got mediocre reviews. 54% at Rotten Tomatoes, which means "rotten".

I just remember in the theatre when I saw it, for the arena fight scene, only my bud and I were laughing. I dunno, but maybe the rest of the audience just didn't really get the joke, since it was referencing the original 1960s Star Trek, in a somewhat oblique way too.

No, The Cable Guy was destroyed when it came out. Everyone crapped on it relentlessly.

Gerry is one I keep meaning to watch as it sounds like something I'd love.

Very recent film but Cloud Atlas. The reviews basically were split about the film either you loved it or hated it.

I was one of the ones that loved it and arguably one of the few movies better than the book.

It is a movie that forces the viewer to pay attention and probably watch a couple times. No matter I really like that movie.

Few others that people mentioned were Waterworld and the Matrix series.
