nope. any recent supersport will decimate the thrill of a car, had both on a road course, bike is way better, no contest

I've ridden a couple supersports and they are thrilling, as is my bike, but the Elise is visceral like a bike and it ranks up there IMO...definitely higher than a Harley anyway. Sorry ZV. ;)

You just need to go for a spin on the right Harley, I recommend the one with the Porsche engine.

If I ever have reason to be in your neck of the woods, we'll trade for an hour and go for a ride.

Deal. I almost bought a Harley a few years ago...still haven't ridden one though.

Maybe I'll go to one of their demo days next time they have one. Wouldn't mind taking a spin on a VRod or a Sportster. None of their other bikes really do much for me though.

I like my bike but to be honest, I really prefer driving my car -- I don't have the same connection to my bike as I do my car. I can't really explain it...

Maybe it would be different if I was a really good rider and was scraping pegs through the corners, but on the other hand the downshift into, turbo whine accelerating out...damn I love driving...

Been street riding for 34 years, a little more on the dirt, Currently ride a Goldwing Interstate and still ride a 4 wheeler (Honda 300EX) with my kids. Used to drag race bikes in the early 80's and had a ball. Realized I was probably pressing my luck, so I gave it up. Had a real sweet Honda CBX that ran 9.10's all day long....
I will ride something, in one form or another, until my crippled, Alzhiemer ridden body won't let me :)

Nah, they both have their places. ;) But the 951 is probably the reason that I have a Harley and not a sportbike.

You bring up a very valid point - being "in the zone" on a bike is like -nothing- else I've experienced. I've driven (and not lightly either) a 575M, heavily modified 911 turbo, caymans, M cars - and absolutely nothing comes close to the experiences I've had on my 1098. There's something about being extremely connected to things on a bike that just can't be duplicated in a car

That being said, it's a lot easier to drive a car near the limit - and that's where a lot of the fun is..

Also (and I LOVE sv's, so not gonna get into that argument) but being in said zone on an SV is completely different from a liter bike where the only thing holding you back is your right wrist.

Old man here, 33, had a couple crotch rockets and moved on to cruisers before marriage/kid pretty much ended my riding days. Oh and I live in DFW where it blows ass to ride anyway.

Be safe. All those idiots on the road that nearly crash into you / pull right out in front of you / etc in a car will be even more irritating and potentially deadly when you're on a bike.

That said, have fun. Motorcycles are one of the purest forms of fun left in this decaying world.

Me too...I am 34...just got my first bike about a month ago. It is a 2003 Suzuki SV1000S with about 7K miles on it when I bought it. I am a late bloomer..and I think that I have more respect for what the bike can do. Ditto on on the crazy fucks who drive...and try to kill me every time I ride. I always knew how bad drivers can be...it is magnified now that I ride.

Lucky for me, my fiance rides a 2007 Honda Shadow 750...and she has two kids already..so no lost bike when we have more kids ;)

No way after 40+ posts 80% of ATers ride motorbikes. I picked second option. I ride a bicycle instead :)

Do it! The V-Rods are nothing like an air cooled Harley. I've never ridden a sporty, but everyone I know that has one really likes them.

Sold my sportster in '95, I miss it but still keep my license. Too many stupid cagers around here and I'm not as quick nor patient as I once was.
