You don't have to PANDER, but you can acknowledge what they are dealing with, their worries with crime. Don't defund their communities' police. Leave them out of it, or promote community policing. Those people idolize black culture, go to sports events, love black athletes like Michael Jordan, etc.

They like LeBron's game, but not his personality or views because LeBron is very outspoken unlike Jordan, etc.

They see themselves as swingy/flippable or whatever..they don't see color or racism is not a dealbreaker to a lot of them as long as they enjoy black athletes entertainment.
LeBron is such a bad guy for speaking out. What is your boy Boomer doing for people?

At the same time the Fox News right wing media infrastructure plays any crime they find on a 24x7 loop so their people are conditioned to believe the opposite of reality.
Wait, Mexican cartels aren't taking over the country?
Damn... someone better tell Fox News that.

Still mystified by the "everything is horrible and I'm in charge" strategy for re-election Adams is using.
In charge? Hell no.
Other people are responsible and we are on a persistent campaign to go "get" them! Vote for the good guys so they can jail the bad guys ruining your city.

Another viewpoint:

‘Target said last month that it’s closing nine stores in major cities specifically because “theft and organized retail crime are threatening the safety of our team and guests, and contributing to unsustainable business performance.”

“One analysis by journalist Judd Legum at Popular Information found that the stores Target is closing in both New York and San Francisco had lower reported theft rates compared to other nearby locations.”

“A top Walgreens executive seemed to indicate as much earlier this year: “Maybe we cried too much last year” about theft and other losses, Walgreens finance chief James Kehoe acknowledged in January.”

America has spoken that they do not consider this "crime" in the traditional sense so much as just another payment on the tab of having almost unlimited ability to obtain firearms.
Unless it's a young black man using a gun to steal a load of Air Force 1s

Lets be honest.. it's gone up but not in the way the media would have you believe.

Right wing attacks on others are at an all time high.

I try and not shop at Home Depot anymore.. their greedflation means you end up paying almost triple for the actual value of the tool while they happily run with your money to the bank and have enough to donate to Trump.

Rightists aren't angry at him speaking out, they're angry at him criticizing America. Rightists see themselves as American patriots, American exceptionalism. This country is a shining city on the hill, if Michael Jordan can "get" it, why can't other Blacks like Bron, Kap, etc.

Boomer has his own foundation.

Boomer Esiason Foundation[edit]

The Boomer Esiason Foundation (BEF) was formed soon after Gunnar's diagnosis to fund research to find a cure for cystic fibrosis. The foundation also provides scholarships, transplant grants, hospital grants, and education and awareness of CF to help provide a higher quality of life for people with CF. The foundation has raised in excess of $100 million,[50] and has supported numerous hospitals, including Cincinnati Children's Hospital with the Gunnar H Esiason CF/Lung Center and Columbia Presbyterian in NYC with the Gunnar H Esiason Adult CF and Lung Program. In 2018 the foundation awarded over $400,000 in scholarships to almost 100 students.[51] The foundation is located in New York City and runs numerous events around the country.[52] The foundation annually receives four stars from Charity Navigator.[53]

In 1996, Esiason formed a partnership with Cantor Fitzgerald and Howard Lutnick (CEO) as the foundation offices were moved to the North Tower of the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan on the 101st floor, which was destroyed in 2001 in the September 11 attacks. All five full-time employees survived, as none were in the building at the time, but "Esiason figured he knew over 100 people personally" who were killed in the attack, including his best friend Tim O'Brien who was a partner at Cantor.[54]

Sure, you can criticize the treatment of blacks by the criminal justice system by blaming Canada.

America is the greatest country in the world to a lot of American conservatives. Does Reaganism ring a bell? That's been the mantra a lot of conservatives, even some liberals like Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, etc. say.
That's what conservatives claim but they constantly support things that are antithetical to what this country is supposedly trying to be. That's the problem with blind nationalism, they just wave flags and cry during the national anthem and then turn around and support a traitor who tried to destroy the country.

Yeah I would love to see someone square 'America is the greatest country in the world' with 'and we must overthrow its government'.

And why should we care what they think?
Why should we care what Muhammad Ali, John Carlos, Colin Kaepernick, LeBron James, Kevin de Bruyne thinks as well, right?

Goes both ways.

Entertainers are influencers, and Ali and Kap did that, and it cost them white conservative and moderate support.

Didn't Trump win an election telling people America is not the greatest country in the world?

It's definitely interesting to me that these MAGA patriots who think USA is perfect and the best country in the world and free of any criticism needs to have it's government overthrown.

When I think about "hmmm what is the greatest country in the world" the main criteria that puts the country at the top of the list with the most pull is "well the country that needs it's government overthrown is definitely top tier. The best country in the world would definitely not have a stable government that doesn't need to be overthrown."

Rightists see themselves as all kinds of things they aren't. It doesn't mean anything to say they are something if they can't prove it with their actions.

And guess what? Just like you don't speak for all of "white middle class America", Michael Jordan doesn't speak for all of African American athletes and celebrities. The fact that he never spoke up when in the spotlight, does NOT mean nobody else has the right to.
Why should we care what Muhammad Ali, John Carlos, Colin Kaepernick, LeBron James, Kevin de Bruyne thinks as well, right?

You're right, it DOES go both ways. Why can't you see that until you're trying to shut someone else down?

You've been one-sided through all of this back and forth. According to you, it's not okay for Kap to kneel, or for LeBron to speak out (because you disagree with the method or what they're saying), but it's fine for Boomer to speak out or for Jordan not to (because you're fine with what they are/aren't saying).

Lastly, why did Ali and Kaepernik need to garner "support" from white conservatives? Why should they give a shit? They aren't politicians, and they don't have reason to care about attracting viewers. They're going to get paid either way.

Some really poor and conflicting arguments from you, as well as a lot of projection.
