Milo is silenced you dipshit since he gets banned from publicly funded Universities and Colleges. Where violent protests are promised if he is allowed to speak. There is no such thing as free speech when speakers you disagree with are forbidden to speak in a public setting. Yeah i know, He's evil and "alt-right" and says like, mean things and makes fun of you. Pull up your big girl panties and deal with it.

Really? They've explicitly promised violent protests? I'd love to see your evidence for that. Oh, wait, they just promised protests... you're adding the "violent" part because you want to paint this as anti-democratic when it's really just student advocacy.

Publicly-funded universities and colleges aren't legally obligated to host speeches. It's a school, not a sounding board for anyone popular enough to have an audience. By definition of limited resources and their academic goals, these institutions have some freedom to curate who and what they discuss. Frankly, I don't think it's a difficult decision: does it benefit students to host a talk from someone whose career is best summed up as "professional troll," especially when it's doubtful that he'll promote any kind of thoughtful discussion? It's like having the founders of a creationist museum make a speech at an evolutionary science conference... they'll stir up some trouble, but they'll be utterly useless.

Yeah, he's so silenced that he got a book deal. Makes perfect sense...

I asked to speak at a public university and they denied my request. Clearly, I am being suppressed... 🙁

Please, and the usual dumbasses here whining about safe spaces, as if it wasn't their fellow libs always being victims and then doing stupid shit like the above. Dumbasses, stop trying to pretend it's not YOUR ilk whining for safe spaces and why it's a thing. There's whole threads here of leftloon idiots whining about their 'demands' for safe spaces.

So because a publisher publishes something you disagree with (fucking hell, what the hell ELSE is a free press for fuck's sake?) then some shitbag reviewer isn't going to review a single other book by the same publisher for all of 2017. Now THAT's a left-twat.

It's ironic as hell that members of the press don't understand the meaning of freedom of the press. I mean fine, don't review this guy's book, but everyone else just because it's the same publisher? THAT'S pure, 100% leftloon.

Read the thread. Not once has anyone objected to the book deal. Your straw man is what's loon.

free speech is people protesting against a person they disagree with. you just hate it because you want to suck some Milo dick. aka you now hate free speech because it keeps you away from your alt right lover

Yes. Protesting. However, free speech & "protesting" does NOT include physically blocking people from going to a Milo event, physically threatening people, screaming directly in people's faces, spitting on people, or putting huge last-minute security fees not charged to 'progressive' speakers, or completely banning the discussion altogether.
College progressives have done all that and more. That's fascism - the same fascism you claim to be against.

Wow.... way to "prove" your point. 😀

I googled protests against Milo and didn't find anything that was violent on the first two pages of Google results. I don't condone violence but I do condone free speech protesting. You make it sound like there have been nothing but violent protests - Google disagrees.

And Milo turns out not only to be a hate speech filled douchebag (that you probably admire) but also a pompous ass - saying he was more significant that Trump

"Yiannopoulos told the Post that he is “more significant than Trump,” a politician he supports, because Yiannopoulos will “be around in 30, 40 years talking about stuff that actually matters.”"

Now that's a laugh... or is this like how you newly define "racism" that it only applies to those "with power", therefore the acts I've described aren't considered "violent" since it's against someone with WrongThink.

Prepare your anus... the dozens of video rebuttals proving how wrong you are are coming. 😀

While I'm not a Milo fan, I do enjoy watching "protest" videos on Youtube. If you can't find evidence of these things involving Milo, you didn't try too hard. I'm not saying that he's being completely silenced, and he's clearly a special guy, but yeah, he does have some interesting stuff done to him at a lot of his university speeches.

The funny thing is that Milo doesn't seem to be nearly as butthurt as the delicate snowflakeAlts that post here that pretend to give two shits about him or his message...

Progressive! 3🙂

And yet Leslie Jones (the person he tweeted about)...

I think they should both be able to tweet whatever the hell they want, but let's not pretend one's racist and the other's not.

You appear to have mistaken "unfunny" for "racist."

Heckler's veto
A heckler's veto occurs when an acting party's right to freedom of speech is curtailed or restricted by the government in order to prevent a reacting party's behavior. The common example is that of demonstrators (reacting party) causing a speech (given by the acting party) to be terminated in order to preserve the peace.

He's been a central proponent of the alt right movement for awhile now, a movement that is pretty explicitly racist. What's the issue?
Give an example. Just one.

In the meantime, rather than dozens and dozens of videos of "progressive" students having fits, here's a grand collage of some of the best all mashed into a fun musical! 😀

From what I've seen of this Milo guy, he seems to fit in with Alex Jones and the rest of the fear mongering "alt-right" movement:

They all fit the following characteristics (please correct me if I'm wrong):

  • Anti Obama
  • Anti Islam
  • Anti Hillary
  • Anti non-white people
  • Anti immigration
  • Anti refugees
  • Anti government (unless it is Trump)
So what's unique about this guy compared to the rest of these liars and frauds?

Milo, Trump, and other trolls are the modern day conservative movement. Have to create a lot of noise and throw a lot of dust up to peddle more failed trickle down in this day and age.

Which particular racist aspects of that "movement" (a vague group of right-wing internet people, many of which are trolls) has Milo espoused?

It is so sad that these guys are only choosing one side to cover while totally ignoring the broader issues. That in itself tells you this movement and these people are liars and frauds. Their followers are not that much better from what I've seen. Just read a few of the comments.

By the way, the following stuff is only done by Democrats and so-called liberals, according to the alt-right guys and gals:

  • Election fraud
  • Child abuse
  • Satanism
  • Witchcraft
  • Attempts to start WW3
  • Press censorship
  • etc.
When people only choose to look at one side of an issue while ignoring the broader picture, you need to realize that they are not after truth.

This is nonsense. People make 1000's of choices per day, and most of these choices have nothing to do with politics. Right now i'm deciding between coffee and tea. j/k. only women drink tea.

Pretty much. I don't care that Milo wrote a book. I do find the hysteria and backlash against the guy sad and amusing though, and the actions of universities/twitter/etc against him a bit unnerving in the context of free speech.

Funny how all these totally not racists only find bad things to say about those who don't care for the racism, who btw are the Real racists.

Yeah I just went through like ten pages of Google Images searching 'milo yiannopoulous racist' to make sure I didn't miss anything obvious, and only found Leslie Jones stuff and a brilliant gentleman joke where he said Ben Shapiro's wife had a half-black son. I'm not a fan of him at all and until the Twitter drama only knew him as that gay guy that gets to troll about how women belong in the kitchen on national television, but as far as I can tell, being a professional troll pays too well for him to cross racial lines.

He like a lot of populists incl Trump aren't exactly supremacists but certainly don't mind making a buck peddling to them; that's why Steve "civic society" Bannon types love paying his salary. It's no great coincidence he got banned because his followers' Jones=monkey images & such consistently made twitter look terrible.

The OP subject is the perfect embodiment of the proud systemic bigotry in this country.
