I don't expect the rich people on here to understand.

That is exactly the ever growing rift between the haves and the have nots in this country.

Well Dave, instead of wasting your time bitching, whining and complaining about how unfair it is that you are a "have not" instead of being a "have"...why don't you put that time into a more productive use and try to become a "have".

I am quite sure that if you put the same amount if energy into becoming someone successful as you do surfing and posting on the wet and develop the means to put more money in your pocket you may just end up being a happier person and a bit more positive.

I mean come on...you have average of 12 posts per day just here....god knows where else you meander to during the day.....I would think you could be a *bit* more productive than that.

I am not rich by any means but I am not complaining about it because I chose the path I am on...if I want more I will have to earn it....wtf is so hard to understand?

Easy to say and write when you are on other end of keyboard and you have no idea what I have been doing on this end.

I have been attacking the job loss just like a job. I am still up at 5am and have in the neighborhood of 20 applications in by 8 am.

I have been averaging at least three phone calls with companies directly and/or recruiters and about three phone interviews a week with hiring managers.

I have also gone on face to face interviews where required as well including 165 mile round trips to Tulsa and 90 mile round trips to Joplin Missiouri.

I have taken and passed the two hour assessment test for a new cellular carrier call center position. Interview with hiring manager is upcoming.

My posts per day are actually indicative of the amount of hours per day I normally put in.

Last job for example I was paid a straight flat rate for 40 hours.

Nevermind the fact that calls start coming in at 7am sharp and continue to 11 pm non-stop with sometimes 5 techs on the line at the same time.

Nevermind at least one or two conference calls a day that can take up to three hours each.

Nevermind the fact that any software pushes or maintenance work to be done occurs that night after midnight till 6am and the tech calls start again at 7am.

So before spouting off absolute total fcking false nonsense a simple common courtesy as a PM or question before judgment seems reasonable to me first.

Milk still $6 in California

Came down to $4 after nearly hitting $7 in New Jersey last Spring

11-15-2008 Sacramento half-gallon of milk costs $2.97 on average

Think your last grocery bill seemed pricey? Be happy that you don't live in Sacramento, where a half-gallon of milk costs $2.97 on average. In fact, Sacramento's milk prices rank the highest of any major metropolitan city in the country.

New York City is another pricey spot. Not only are the city's average monthly mortgage, rent and energy bills the highest of any major city in the country, iceberg lettuce rings in at $2 per head, on average--double the price found in other cities.

As the economy continues its decline, those in San Antonio are far less likely to feel the pinch--at least when it comes to food prices. Residents there pay just $3.08 for an 11.5 oz. can of freeze-dried coffee, compared to $5.91 in San Francisco.

And when it comes to bread, San Antonians win again:

The average cost of a loaf of white bread is just $.79.

In Manhattan, bread costs over three times that amount, at $2.68 per loaf.

ouch, here in NC its about $4, although I get it for about $2 by buying milk that has been price reduced because it only has a few days left to expire.

 You isolate one city in the state of CA and say milk is still $6 in CA? You can't even do math since $2.97 x 2 isn't $6. And you do know that a single gallon of milk is less expensive than two 1/2 gallons of milk right?

Why don't you use the price of quarts of milk x 4 to get your gallon price? It'll even be higher than using 1/2 gallons.

Change your damn Topic Summary to reflect Sacramento at $5.94 gallon (1/2 gallons x 2)

Another thread that needs to be locked.

Your post obviously ignores the fact you cant base a gallon of milk argument off a 1/2 gallon price, because it is always priced higher per oz than a full gallon. That price difference gets extended further when you buy 2 gallons of some brands and save even more. In California, you can get a gallon of milk for less than $4 and 2 gallons of milk for less than $5 in most areas.

I'm really surprised it's not a lot cheaper in Sacto as that city is within a 100 miles of a lot of dairy farms.

The article doesn't say milk is nearly 6, it says half a gallon is nearly 3.

Dave is being a complete moron, as usual. It's like me buying a can of coke for $1.00 and pretending a case of 12 is $12.

Let me know when you have purchased Anandtech.

Why can't you actually comprehend what you read and post something factual?

Again, milk is not $6 gallon in CA.

My opinion not yours which I have asked if you now own the site.

😕 Wow. As already mentioned by several folks, you're using the avg price of a half-gallon to calculate the price of a gallon of milk. You are truly a moron.

Is it any surprise?

I already refuted this idiot's claim about New Jersey.

Maybe that's why dave has so much trouble all the time. He can't do math... He claims he was "lied" too when buying that bar... but maybe he just couldn't do the math... 😉

Wow, op is fucking dumb.

I bought a single serving (1c) carton of milk for 0.75. Milk must be $12/gallon where I live.

How the hell do you take a 2.97 half gallon price from one city and turn it into 6$ per gallon in California. Did you fail math or something? Stop making threads please, you lower everyone's IQ average whenever you show your hate for logic and facts in your posts.

You never ever explain yourself too in your reasoning, which is the worst part.

I really think that Dave missed his true calling in life: Writing sensational articles for the National Enquirer.

Remember, you're talking about a 50 year old who, somehow, has managed to completely ignore all the lessons from life. I don't know 20 year olds this stupid and the guy has been doing it for decades.

LOL!

PS - I just bought a gallon of Milk for $2.50 here in the state that has been in a recession loooooong before it hit any other state (Michigan)

Dave, if someone is paying $6/gallon for milk, then my guess is they're buying the snooty, free-range, non-steroidal, organic, "oh-look-at-me-saving-the-precious-cows", eco-friendly crap at Whole Foods. Milk at Krogers is $3.

edit: oops, didn't realize Dave was using his own version of "New Math".
