Play with the battle calculator here: http://mmhk.jactari.info/fight

I guess I don't really understand the impact heroes have on combat, they play no factor in that calculator, and don't seem to have any of their own "army power" points

I guess the class bonuses would affect the units in their party, but what about the hero's attack/defense/magic stats that seem to go up as you level? What is the point of those if the hero isnt doing the fighting? Are those stats added on top of whatever the units in the group's stats are?

This looks like Travian on steroids.

And I lost soooo much of my life to Travian. If any of you can imagine what it takes to build an army with 6,600 Trebuchets on a classic server, you can understand how devoted I was to that game.

Dude I had like 10 cities and 10k Imperians and was playing on the speed server.

I can understand.

If it's anything like HOMM, the bolded is exactly how it works.

finally running into a gold shortage, but also ran out of regular resources at the same time so no biggie, once my mage quarter gets built will probably do a silo while waiting for the reserves to catch back up.

Hey guildmasters, I was wondering if you can kick Kyrax12 out and add in Kyrax13 into the guild.

Thanks.

I made a new account to start near ATOT.

from the little I've been able to gleam, heros don't have much impact till they start to get seriously leveled up.

The process is started. It will take 24 hours to kill the old account and then you can use the invitation to join the new one.

Count me out. Game is way too slow and I've lost interest before doing hardly anything.

Yes, every point your hero gets adds 0.5% to your units. 10 attack = 5% attack bonus

Pheran is it under a general consensus that we are going to trade within the Alliance only?

I would definitely say that if we need to share resources it would be *best* to share with alliance because trade with other alliances helps make them stronger.

I dont think its a "requirement" though.. Especially if someone isn't stepping up to help. To help other members, I'm ramping up Sulfer production as high as I can. I dont need alot of it and I'll be offering eventually to other members who need it as soon as production is fully up.

I agree with TCR, trading within the alliance is nice if you can do it, but there's nothing wrong with trading with others (or using the auction house) if you need to. If we were actively at war with some alliance I would discourage any trade with them, but at this point in the game you should build up however you can.

TCR, you might be underestimating your sulfur needs once you get troops that require sulfur to construct. :)

There's quite the lull of quests once you clear out the inner ring.

On the bright side, only 68 more days till I get my 4th hero..

In the tradition of Ikariam, I'm testing out an available Greasemonkey script for MMHK. For those unfamiliar, you need Firefox and the Greasemonkey add-on to run this. It doesn't do a whole lot, but the handiest feature is that it will link you to the Jactari combat simulator from an attack screen with all the creatures filled in. Another feature is that it will convert scouting reports to text, like so:

date : Monday, September 06, 2010 5:42:45 AM
subject : Scouting of Bastigal's troops (Aliander) finished.

joueur: Aliander
lieu: Bastigal
fortification: None

region :
47 Gremlin (SHOOTER 3337)
10 Iron Golem (INFANTRY 2720)
20 Master Gremlin (SHOOTER 1720)
12 Stone Gargoyle (CAVALRY 1440)

hero : Syeana level 3
class: Merchant, Priest

hero : Dyrtan level 3
class: Landlord, Summoner, Knight

hero : Lilathia level 3
class: Leader, Builder

This script does not contain any automation features whatsoever, so I very much doubt that Ubi would care about anyone using it, though I haven't seen them post any policies on this kind of stuff.

Here's a nifty idea inspired by a scouting tip from DrNick: cross-alliance scouting! Nick pointed out in-game that if your hero scouts another town, you can pick up around 100 XP, and that increasing the time it takes will increase your chance of success. The downside is that your hero could be captured and held prisoner by the enemy until they feel like releasing them (they could demand payment or whatever). Now, you can't scout anyone in your own alliance, but wait, we have ATOT and ATOT2. I figure if we spend some time scouting each other we can get some free hero XP and if the hero gets captured, the other player can just release them. Thoughts?

I for one will establish without any hesitation that any scouts sent to my camp from ATOT will be returned ASAP for free and without any restrictions. I would ask anyone under ATOT2 to do the same and in fact I am going to go ahead and say that if a friendly scout is captured on your territory and you do not return the scout for free and I get wind of it I will very likely consider expelling the person from the alliance. That's just not how allies should be working together.

Cross-alliance scouting is a no brainer, imo.

Scout the hell out of me, ATOT, and expect to see some of mine checking you out.

Are you a demon?

Yeah I am definitely going to try to keep my economy within the Alliance.

Do you improve or upgrade your mines?

It was kinda fun to set up, but then it told me to do a few things that will take FOUR HOURS and I can't do anything else till then? What a retarded game. I want to play it and have fun, not wait HOURS for something to happen right at the beginning of the game.

I closed the window and I'll probably have forgotten about it by the time that "clear out the mine" bullshit actually finishes.

Sigh some of the people here obviously don't know the concepts behind browser war games.
