I pity the poor bastard adviser that has to explain the meaning of word "receipts" in reference to evidence to Trump.

This quote from Cohen is a great way to sum up Trump’s character. He’s a con in every aspect of his life, probably because he’s a psychopath.

Heard interview with James Clapper this morning. He told story of Trump's first briefing when told Russia interfered in the election. Trump was unwilling to believe what Clapper was telling him even though he already got word from Wikileaks damaging info on Hillary was coming out.

That's good enough for Fox. Getting back to not being able to criminally prosecute a sitting President, I wonder what the Founders (who provided no protection in the Constitution from it) would think of a President who was a mass murderer killing every day until he was impeached, never an instant process? If you are so inclined that Maddow show that discussed this in the context of "the bagman" is quite enlightening as the immunity from prosecution turns out to be an afterthought unrelated to Presidents themselves. If the Republicans want a President in prison then let them have one. Trump can issue directions to Pence who can act for him if that's what they want.

Not being able to criminally prosecute a president also has the insane side effect of meaning that if you committed crimes to WIN the presidency once you have it you can't be prosecuted for them unless they can muster a super majority in the Senate. In America today such a super majority is essentially impossible, meaning there is no reason for presidential candidates to NOT commit crimes if they think it will help them win.

Yeah I'm sure that's what the founders wanted.

Or better yet, kill one or more people on 5th ave. Since a sitting President cannot be prosecuted he is not arrested. He goes back to AF1 and orders it to fly to Russia. It would take a few days to impeach. Since we don't have an extradition agreement with Russia POTUS has now gotten away with murder.

That makes POTUS above the law.

I have the feeling DOJ policy will be revisited once a new AG is installed.
 
Founders also didn't take into account a completely craven and selfish senate groveling at the knees of their president. And craven is doing them a service. At worse they could just be in collusion with the president and it only takes 30'ish of them to agree to a no vote on convicting. We no longer have independent, rational, and "country before party" representatives taking up occupancy in the Senate. The memo needs to be revisited an no person should be considered above the law.

Reps are flipping out right now as they are being hung out to dry. They are naturally attacking Cohen for lying, but that's irrelevant. What matters is evidence and documentation. If I were Cohen I'd have an enlarged placard of Trump's check and hold that up whenever he's questioned about the matter in a hostile attack.

I'm sure if Obama orchestrated an IRS scandal the component Republicans would have had oversight hearings and discovered the evidence.

Let's just have an indictment/arrest/convicted count Obama vs Trump.

Ooops I forgot about the tan suit scandal.

He didn't plan it, he just allowed the IRS to go after political groups.

Trump's indictment count doesn't make Obama's presidency better. He had major flaws, just like Trump.
 
Funny Trump pressuring his high school and college not to release his transcript while at the same time claiming Obama's school records were fake.

It's called politics. Maxine Waters, Elijah Cummings were Obama loyalists from day in to day out. It's called politics.
