PS - In case you are not aware of history writing hush money check from the White House is one of the things that got Spiro Agnew removed. Trump was writing hush money checks while President in the White House. You need a new data download, Skippy.

There is no reason a President could not be criminally indicted. Maddow had a good show on this last week and "can't be" was not about a President, as Nixon was going to get put down this way, but Agnew. In any case indictment itself is perfectly logical as it freezes the statute of limitations at the time charges are brought and a trial can begin at the end of a Presidents tenure.

But I'd say if a President isn't distracted by a Congressional trial then he can deal with a judicial one. If the Republicans want to be the party of criminals so be it. Trump can hold video conferences if necessary and the Republicans at this point will vote for removal.

Before the shitshow begins, let me just say this. Michael Cohen is no hero. He is no paragon of truth. He should be facing jail time for his crimes (including lying to Congress.)

But, he also doesn't have much more to lose at this point (despite what Trump, Gaetz and other GOP stooges believe) and lying now doesn't gain him anything. I do believe everything he will testify to today actually happened. The only question in my mind is whether Trump directed all these schemes or whether Cohen took his own initiative to protect his client. There may be some wiggle room for an idiot like Trump to say, "Well if my lawyer suggested it, I assumed it was legal".

I don't get the point of his "Trump is a racist" testimony. What the hell does that have to do with Trump committing crimes before/during his term? Nobody cares about what a racist says in private--they care about how racism shapes one's policies in a position of power.

Regardless, it should make for a riveting hearing. I'm gonna stream this at work.

I am not a liberal or conservative. I've always been a registered Independent. I always stay in the Middle, so I point and make fun of both sides equally.

I voted for Trump, but I also voted for Obama both terms.

Since 1980, I have fully predicted EVERY presidential election and knew who was going to win. The next election has not started yet but will predict will full confidence Trump will be the last American President.

The same voice telling me this told me when I was a child I would retire when I reached the age of 40. As got older I questioned this voice and said no way, maybe 45... nope, the voice kept telling me. Funny, just 3 months before I turned 40 I was retired and became a Philanthropist.

Want to know what else the voice told me ? Don't bother paying or filing anything to the IRS. Sucks to be all you slaves if you have a wife and children. The system will collapse

Cohen actually has a great deal more to lose by lying. If his statements here are found to be lies he can be prosecuted for a new set of charges and spend even more time in prison. Considering how much Mueller presumably knows he has a very large incentive to be truthful.

Well considering just the other day Trump terminated funding for battling violent domestic white supremacist groups and people were still trying to insist it was because Trump cares about cutting the budget deficit the fact that he’s a huge racist seems pretty relevant to me.

This is the shitshow I expected to happen within a couple months of Trump's inauguration. What took so long?!

I wonder if Trump will distract by firing or antagonizing Mueller. Maybe he'll start some shit with another country. Sinking ship. I think we'll see a lot more "rats" :)

What worries me Trump will do something drastic in an attempt to take Cohen out of the headlines.

He may agree to remove troops from SK or relax sanctions and get nothing from Kim
