I don't think Red Dawn meant the BP agent had no place patrolling the border. I think he meant its unfortunate the BP agent was in a position where Mexicans where throwing rocks at him and he probably panicked because he didn't know exactly how to react.

Perhaps one day you'll realize that if you bravely bury your head in the sand, your ass is waving enticingly in the air, just begging to be screwed. If I thought either party was listening, I'd recommend adding four light infantry divisions, militarizing the border (it is after all Mexican soldiers firing at and threatening our Border Patrol, not Mexican policemen), and ending all Mexican immigration, legal or illegal. Then I would outlaw wire transfers to Mexico. Then, when I was satisfied the border was reasonably secure, I'd hold a six month registration period for illegals. After that I would start processing. Those who were not registered or who had any criminal infractions (including identity theft) or were on welfare or could show no history of work or had ANY evidence of gang activity would be deported - really deported, as in held in detention camps indefinitely until they can be deported, not issued dates to show up for deportation. The ones with a decent work record could apply for a green card and eventual citizenship after paying all back taxes, including fines and penalties like citizens or legal aliens AND paying a hefty processing fee and illegal entry penalty.

Maybe the BP agent reacted the way he did because he know what a rock to the head would do. Especially when the ones do the assault were told to back off and they did not.

Why,in the video there only seemed to be a couple of them, a good marksman would have gotten them all. Hell he was able to shoot that kid in the back of the head as he was running away from him at 50 yards.

When I was in my early twenties somewhere around 28 years ago this kid from my old neighborhood got in a fist fight with this 30 yr old guy and got his clocked cleaned. He had it coming so it was no big deal he was 18 and knew what he was doing. Well in his frustration he scoops up a nice fist sized rock and chucks it at the guy. Hit the guy in the back of the head and caved in his skull. He died the next day. Kid went to prison for manslaughter. So a reasonable case can be made that the guard met deadly force with deadly force.

The worth of his life was determined by his own actions. Maybe rocks don't seem deadly to you but I have first hand knowledge that they can be very deadly.
