Yeah, I'm hitting almost every single Side-Op, except the stupid mother base find the target ones. I tried one, found 18, and couldn't find any other ones... The scavenger hunt drives me insane. So I'll skip those... The honey Bee mission can take you 1.5 hours, or less than 30 minutes depending on how you go about it. That's the beauty of this game over games like splinter cell: They give you choice. You're not forced to use non-lethal tactics to take down an outpost. You can go in like rambo, but you'll always have that curiosity of: Would these guys make my motherbase better? Maybe I need another mortar. And my most OCD'd problem: I JUST NEED EVERY $#@$! at MOTHERBASE MUHAHAHAHA!!!

The ending of this game is just... incomplete.

As this MGS streamer has written so well http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1snekc6

You know, I disagree with anyone immediately when they say "This game is missing half its content".

You do not know what was and was not on the chopping block. Because you personally feel unsatisfied does not mean half the game is gone. That is as the writer says in the first paragraph
just being "butthurt" or that its "just my opinion" and that I shouldn't be trying to speak for the masses

It leaves some unanswered questions but that is it. I never felt it was missing content. The content was fine and honestly if you are a long time fan of the series you can pretty much use interpretation to figure out what happens up to the point of Metal Gear Solid where known characters show up again. I actually felt the ending we got felt right for the game and it explains the first two Metal Gear games on NES pretty well
you didn't beat Big Boss, you beat Solidius and Venom snake in the first two metal gear games since big boss was busy trying to build the real outer heaven
. That said, there are some questions as to why certain characters are doing what they are doing. Some of it is mentioned in the tapes at the end of the game but no details.

Yeah I'm loving the emergent gaming aspect of MGS5 and discovering new stuff on my own like using an air drop not just to deliver weapons but as a weapon itself by having it land on enemies. I haven't played an MGS game in years so I'm not doing some stuff at all like utilizing the cardboard box, rather than just aim to finish missions with my current method, I'm going to make an effort to use my entire arsenal of stuff and mess with enemies more to see how the environment reacts as that's fun itself. Apparently even D-Horse's poop can cause some pretty cool things to happen. I love this game.

Does D-Horse poop on command?

So 50-ish missions in the game, even though at least 8 of them are re-hashes of old missions with new difficulties placed on them?

We know for a fact that it's missing content. The conclusion, reveal, etc, all come in the span of 4 missions in "Chapter 2" and then what? It turns out that you were the false Big Boss. Why would the real Big Boss end up doing to you what he did in MG1?

how do you tell D-Horse to go somewhere to poop? I have him poop, but I have no idea what to do since his dumb ass follows you around...

You can tell him to get back and he won't follow you.

Once I got a new buddy I never used the horse again.

So what are you trying to say? I don't care how the ending was presented, it worked for the game especially when you are supposed to listen to the tapes to get further details on events.

um how about mission 51+ which was supposed to wrap up eli's story line, cut form the game and shown in the collections edition:
http://kotaku.com/one-of-metal-gear-solid-vs-most-important-story-scenes-1728467641

also people have looked at the files and there was supposed to be a part 3:
http://www.windowscentral.com/data-...olid-v-phantom-pain-warning-possible-spoilers

the whole thing with kojima productions getting shut down is pretty obvious in how the game ended very abruptly imo

None of that changes the fact that the ending felt right to me. You can have a billion missions where I pick up this guy or that guy and find these documents. That wouldn't make the way it ended any different in my eyes.

so your argument is that it feels right to you? well it feels wrong to me, we'll just have to agree to disagree

Right and 1 chapter does not equal half of the game missing like that linked post states. It is just his opinion of it and his own complaint.

There are as I said a few loose ends to certain characters but Big Boss' story was complete and well done in my opinion. A few games in the metal gear series don't tie up all the character bits and leave you wondering what they did or why certain things happened. That isn't new to me so maybe I am just used to that and am not bothered.

Had something funny happen last night. Was working on a hostage rescue side mission and decided to play around a bit.

A cargo truck pulled up next to the base and two guys got out to go make a quick round. While they were away, I decided to plant some C4 on their truck and then blow it when they got away from the base to see if it would blow without raising the alarm. When I planted it, I accidentally put it one of the tires but the guys were already on their way back, so I left it there and went to a high vantage spot. They hopped in and off they went, you could see the red light on the C4 pack spinning with the tire.

When they were about 100m away, I blew it, with intentions of taking out the whole truck and killing them, but it just blew the tire in spectacular fashion. If I remember correctly, I audibly said "well fuck" because it didn't work like I expected. The two guys were starting to get out of the truck to inspect and I guess there was enough of an explosion to erupt the gas tank, because the whole thing just blew and killed both guys.

Maybe not that funny now that I've typed it out, but this game is awesome. :)

That's pretty cool. Have you upgraded the C4 at all? I'm wondering if upgrading it would have destroyed the whole truck instead of just the tire.

I upgraded my c4 to the max but didn't use it enough to see a difference. Mostly I used it to destroy radios and satellite dishes.

Fake Big Boss's story was basically started, but we still have no idea what his motivations are that would lead up to MG1.

Real Big Boss's story wasn't even touched on. He just escaped the hospital and then hopped on a bike. How is that story even begun? What started his descent into becoming the guy we killed in MG2?

There's very little satisfaction from a story standpoint here. "Some things happened, the end." is what we got out of this.

The second part wasn't supposed to be touched. Stop reaching for things that are not even supposed to be. As for the first bit, in these games you're supposed to use your imagination to figure out what ties the games together. Stop looking for a Lord of the Rings storyline where everything is tied together nearly perfectly. MGS has never been that.

Made it to the honey bee mission. Snuck all the way in without being detected. Now it saved at a checkpoint in the cave where the prisoner seems to be held up. Problem is he dies shortly after I resume from that checkpoint. I can't seem to figure out where that weapon is.

It's upstairs and to the right of the entrance of the ruins. You'll find it in a room somewhere in that area.

Hmm I may have passed by it, I kept going up to find blocked entrances. I'm surprised I made it that far without being detected or taking many guys out. The pain will be when I probably have to get out of there.

Edit: Finally got it, pretty long mission except I didn't alert anyone until the end. I did get a D rating and an octopus tag. Probably because I triggered reflex mode near the end looking for the honey bee. There were four guys in one room guarding it.
