That's the rc3 isos...
Same file sizes as the other mirror posted as the final version...
I just noticed that, the exact same byte count...

I've found several locations with the RC3 ISOs. Can anyone tell us difinitivly what the differance is between the RC3 ISOs and the "real thing"?

RC3 is supposed to be VERY similar to the actual final release. Heck, they released final just 6 days after they released RC3. I've been running RC3 for a few days now, and besides some gnome/enlightenment/gtk+ issues working with each other, the release is stable and good as far as I can tell. KDE runs flawlessly, as does gnome 2.0 by itself, but when I try to run E as my windowmanager, things get a bit funky (namely the pager doesn't work).

The files may be the same size because they're all full cd images... and not much will have changed anyways.

If you have to ask don't install it. You probably wont like it.

Well it can't be EXACTLY the same. My release says RC3 all over the install and in some places in the actual OS too. They'll have modified that for sure. And I think I've got Gnome 2.0, whereas final seems to have 2.0.1 (if that's actually a difference)

ARGH!!!

FSCK! Not again!!!

I really have to pay more attention.

This version looks amazing. The desktop, XMMS, Grip, CUPS all look like things I would use on my other PC. I have tried Red Hat in the past, but never Mandrake. I'll be trying this version this weekend.

So what size are your isos and/or where did you download them?

I got my rc3 isos from ftp.cse.buffalo.edu a few days ago. Here are the file sizes:

MandrakeLinux-9.0rc3-inst-1.i586 - 728,596,480 bytes
MandrakeLinux-9.0rc3-inst-2.i586 - 733,478,912 bytes
MandrakeLinux-9.0rc3-i18n.i586 - 416,645,120 bytes

What server did you get 350KB/s from???

Silverpig....wtf was that? Teach me, teach me!

I was downloading a few things, and doing some other internet related tasks (hammering mirror sites hehe), and that one reply window just kept sitting there, so I hit the submit button a few times. I could have done it a lot more, but figured it wasn't doing anything.

/me shrugs

Well it seems as there is a difference. The total size of the rc3 isos is 1 878 720 512 bytes.
