I got my rc3 isos from ftp.cse.buffalo.edu a few days ago. Here are the file sizes:
MandrakeLinux-9.0rc3-inst-1.i586 - 728,596,480 bytes
MandrakeLinux-9.0rc3-inst-2.i586 - 733,478,912 bytes
MandrakeLinux-9.0rc3-i18n.i586 - 416,645,120 bytes
What server did you get 350KB/s from???

What happened to 8.3 through 8.9?
That server has RC3, not the release.Originally posted by: ThisIsMatt

_I_ didn't actually get it that fast, I'm on dialup, I just transferred it to a friend for download later![]()

did they reduce the amount of useless crap that was in mandrake 8 and 8.1? The thing took longer to load than Windows! Redhat was far more stable IMHO.

For those of you concerned about burning the ISOs to CDs, I want to let you know that you can install directly from the ISOs without having to burn them. You will at least have to make a boot floppy in order to get going. You will also need to know how mount the ISO as a loopback device during the install (mount -o loop /some/tmp/mount/with/Mandrake1.iso /some/other/tmp/mnt ... I think). I've successfully down this with a previous version of Mandrake as well as with the Debian 3.0 DVD ISO image.
I can post more info, but I am away from my main computer.
