besides the fact that it was compiled with GCC 3.2, is there anything interesting about it, or is it just a bunch of newer packages?

Aside from the newer Kernel and KDE 3 (plus compatability with more hardware) I dont know.

I want it because I tried upgrading to KDE 3 on my 8.2 installed and hosed KDE alltogether. This is my chance to redeem myself by starting clean...

I'd mirror it if I had it, and if my ISP wouldn't suspend me for too using too much bandwidth (I'm on probation already).

Gnome 2.0
OpenOffice 1.0.1 is standard
more highly optimized for newer cpus...

There's a whole list of cool stuff on their website.

eh, I'll stick with my redhat 7.2. I already put KDE 3.0.3 on there, don't use gnome, and I've recomplied most of the stuff w/ P3 optimizations anyway.

Cool. I just wish AMD would release a custom compiler...

I just did the perfect Debian 3.0 install on my work notebook today. For the first time everything went smooth from install, to configuring X and KDE, updating the kernel, and setting up netfilter/firewall.

Debian rocks. I can't live without my apt-get.

DAMMIT!!!

I my mom needed me to fix her email, so I went downstairs to help her. Got back up here to see my ftp client connected to a mirror, but the last message was "Connection timed out."

ARGH!!!

... actually, if you go to ftp.mirror.ac.uk/sites/sunsite.uio.no/pub/unix/Linux/Mandrake/Mandrake/iso you can see that they're bringing in cd3 of 9.0 final... they don't have the other two cds yet... :)

I've found several locations with the RC3 ISOs. Can anyone tell us difinitivly what the differance is between the RC3 ISOs and the "real thing"?
