The death penalty NEVER applies, period. If you want to reject human dignity and serve as judge, jury, and executioner, you're just as sick as the person who commits the heinous act - whether the act be murder, genocide, or in this case - rape.

Convicted sexual predators of any kind (Rapists, child molestors, etc.) should be castrated. My only concern is for the guy who ends up in one of those situations with a crazy girl saying he raped her and then he gets convicted and gets castrated...

I just like the complete lack of willingness to even look at other points of view. "I'm going to be completely dogmatic about this: 15 year olds simply CAN NOT do this and that because I say so...and if you argue, I'm going to walk away".

I did not have a clue about the emotional effects that it has on women, and the effects it has on relationships and some of the other social effects it can have, but hey, I got a news flash for you: MOST GUYS, REGARDLESS OF AGE, don't know about that stuff either.

So, your opinion on whether or not 15 year olds can or should be able to consent to sex doesn't particualrly interest me. It's your opinion. If you pay your taxes, I guess you're entitled to it.

What does interest me (and scare me, to be honest) is the fact that everyone seems to be so downright dogmatic. I'm a very inteligent person. I have opinions. I look at other people's opinions with a healthy dose of skepticism. But I never put forth my opinion in a "this is the way it is and I'm right and if you don't see it you're wrong" type manner. To do so goes against the notion that your opinions are based on logic and fact (and yes yes, I know the whole idea of "well, my ideas are so based in logic and fact that I simply can flaunt them like that, because I know I'm right". But that's being circular).

Anyway, this is just a long-winded way of saying that what scares me is not the fact that people have moronic opinions. You wouldn't get very far in life if that tripped you out. What scares me is how those people have those opinions.

Although it's just a facesless BBS.

They breed that sort of thing. 😀

There is a world of difference between a 19 year old having sex with a 15 year old and a 19 year old having sex with a 9 year old. Because of that, the rules need to change.

The 19 year old who has sex with the 15 year old is still commiting a crime, but it isn't the SAME crime as the 19 year old who has sex with the 9 year old...

Different punishments...

I don't want my tax dollars supporting the bastard.I know it costs more to kill a man than to let him rot and that is why if someone is covicted with an indisputable evidence he should get one appeal.Once the conviction is upheld take him out on a desolate road in the middle of nowhere shoot him right between the eyes,drag him off where he cann't be seen by anyone and leave him there.
I'm sorry if I sound bitter but I cringe when people that haven't been through the years of pain and suffering pontificate how we should deal with the "poor RAPIST"!
 
OMFG... I can't believe people actually want the death penalty just because what the guy did was outrageous. People drive through other people's lawns ripping up the grass and some people think that's outrageous and absolutely unthinkable. Should those people get the death penalty? No.

If I was given that chance with the drunk driver who tore up my life when I was 16, I'd do it in a heart beat. At least he is spending the rest of his life in prison for second degree murder. Personally, I'd prefer to just shoot the bastard...

What happened to innocent until proven guilty?

The girl has obviously been traumatized, with a moron mother that would invite a man into her house with ANY worry that he would assult her daughter. But there is no proof. If the test on the fetus shows positive with him as the father, and he is found guilty, then off to prison for life. I;m pretty sure he'll get a nice lifetime of lovin jus like he did to this little girl(IF PROVEN GUILTY)
 
I worked as a corrections officer for four years. Put him in prison, a real prison, in CA, NY or TX. Cho-mo's are the lowest form of life on the inmate totem pole. He will get what he deserves, more than he wants it.
