Kind of a strange way to win a darwin award, but hey, why not?

""If Jani does not derive energy from food and water, he must be doing that from energy sources around him, sunlight being one," said Shah."

I just read a thread where the OP was scolded by a mod for going off topic about tire inflation one time in a single post. Yeah, peoples' English sucks, but we don't have to derail a somewhat interesting thread to point that out.

Content: RIP Indian man.

Just read the latest news articles with his name. Hope he can keep it up a tad longer.

Ah hah!
Water source found, one can live without food for two weeks.

So whatcha think, this guy has the properties of cellulose walls derived from plants, and is storing them in a water vacuole somewhere?

He'd be the closest thing to the green giant at this point.

He's not dead yet?

:hmm:

He's cheating... somewhere.

Some invisible-to-medical-scans sack surgically implanted into his body in a strategic location, and it is loaded with concentrated food cubes?
I guess sneaking minimal amounts of water during gargling would prolong the time one can survive.
The body uses water, no matter what one can magically do. But if you have some extreme buddhist, or general mental state of zen self-discipline, you could control your body's perspiration... to a degree.

Mainly bullshitting some of this, because this guy is bullshit.

There's fraud somewhere in this picture, could be the medical team even.

For one thing tho, he's probably not moving much. When he's not asleep he's meditating or in a state of some zen. He probably isn't even using his brain much everyday at all, thus I could see that as lowering his need for daily calories.

wow!!

"(jani's) only contact with any kind of fluid was during gargling and bathing periodically during the period," g. Ilavazahagan, director of india's defence institute of physiology and allied sciences (dipas), said in a statement.

Unless they somehow effed up, this guy survived two weeks under constant surveillance not eating or drinking anything with flying colors.

'Starving yogi' astounds Indian scientists :\

seriously? i'd take this with a grain of salt. until american or british scientists can confirm, i say this is horseshit. the dude probably has a saline stitched inside his ass.

Even so, THAT alone wouldn't have allowed him to survive with comprehensively A-1 physiological results over a full two weeks of ZERO food or water!
