That's complete bull, if you eat McD's you really are only ingesting calories and fat with no nutrient value, you can't live off that alone. How was Spurlock deceiving himself, people eat super-sized meals all the time, the fact that he was eating it was just to prove a point that if you eat it, it can and eventually will lead to your demise.

I've started eating healthier (water instead of coke, no more chocolate etc, fruit instead) but I've not lost weight, because I'm also more sedentary.
Diet alone will not do that much. Exercise will (I'm starting to exercise more again now).

well the guy is canadian so the menu was different anyway.
spurlock wasn't really pointing out what overeating at a fast food place can do to your body. he ate so much that eating practically anything would have done the same to his body. he could have eaten 5000 calories a day of low-sodium chicken barley vegetable soup and he'd have still come out fscked up.

Anyway, i never said anything about McDonalds having nothing healthy. But do note how its called "Supersize Me", not "eat the 2 healthy items on the menu with a diet coke and work out all the time even though people that do that would most likely eat healthy and not have fast food daily. " Seriously this thread is a joke, and so is that dude who inspired it.

i mean, spurlock probably wouldn't have advanced his own career and pocketbook if he'd hadn't pulled the publicity stunt he did. if anything is the joke it's spurlock's 'documentary.' i guess it is a documentary in that it documents his own farcical overeating and health problems that he tried to blame mcdonalds for.
BudAshes has a point though, it's a comparison of two unrealisitic scenario:
1) Force Fed McD's for a month with no excercise
2) Eating the healthiest food from McD's with excercise
that's not a fair comparision
The problem is a lot of documentaries, much like cable news, have adopted Hollywood's idea of "based on a true story."

these so-called "documentories" reminded me of my college Physic 101 Labs. I know gravity must = 9.8, so I worked backwards to make sure the datas from my lab test conforms to that results.
These film-makers have a preconceived notion of what their theory is, or, they know their answers and make a film that would comply to it.

I worked and ate at mcdonalds for 2 years, I was a wrestler in high school at the time and stayed fairly easily at my 103lb weight class. So its wrong to blame everything on mcdonalds when its really a personal choice to eat there and exercise plays a big role also. What next, we blame sony for making tv's since they cause people to sit on their ass and not exercise?
Ah but the blame isn't only on McDonald's. The whole deal is that McDonald's is saying that eating their food everyday is healthy. To me cheeseburgers and fries with a diet coke every night is only going to lead to death sooner rather than later. Yes it is possible to feast on McDonald's every day and not die. But let's be more realisitic in terms of what people order at McDonald's and how much exercise an average person gets.
Would either of you care to show me the numbers, in terms of which items off the menu are ordered most? You can offer all the healthy items you want, but if a McChicken Sandwich is 99 cents and comes loaded with flavorful mayo, while a chicken salad is $5 and comes with bland dressing, which would most American's order? Let's be real now. McDonald's is a business. They aren't there to help you make healthy decisions in your life, that's why if you want the healthy stuff, you're going to have to cough up more money. And if ANYONE thinks that McDonald's beef and chicken is like the stuff we eat at home, then I hope to never be invited over for dinner. You should also check what your supermarket is selling.
