It is not. It is beef and chicken, just like we all eat at home. The beef and chicken served at McDonald's is not somehow less healthy than any other beef and chicken.

This unreasonable hate of McDonald's and blame game is absurd.

Now THAT is a joke. I don't know where you're buying your beef or chicken, but you might want to do a little more research and start shopping somewhere else.

Amused owns a bunch of fast-food restaurants, so he's going to defend McDonald's to his death.

No, he's right. They use 100% beef. Their chicken on the other hand is pumped with water and phosphates to keep it moist, but all processed chicken is.

This is what's in Mcdonald's "premium" chicken:

Chicken breast strip fritters with rib meat containing: Up to 25% of a solution of water, modified food starch, salt, monosodium glutamate, sodium phosphates, chicken broth, natural flavor (vegetable and animal source), maltodextrin, spice, autolyzed yeast, chicken fat, polysorbate 80, gum arabic.

Enjoy.

Um most of those are the ingredients of the breading batter. MSG is found in most restaurants anyways. Everything is made up of chemicals. Even table salt is sodium chloride. It doesn't mean jack ******.

Yup systolic means nothing. It can vary greatly depending on when you're taking the test.

Cooking for yourself ftw. Fvck [insert fastfood megachain]. Oh, incase it hasn't been posted...

McD's Menu Nutritional Info

Just thought I'd help feed the flames. Amusing watching people defend either side. Personally I like Wendy's, but most other fastfood joints taste like ass to me. And even then, I rarely eat out more than once a month, be it fastfood or a nicer restaurant.

The thing I don't like about this guy's method is that it appears he also took multi-vitamins.

Actually, the sandwich shops I own are in competition with McDonald's and actively market against all burger joints. It would be in my best interest to see McDonald's fail.

However, unlike most of you, I can remain objective and argue facts, instead of spouting absurd hysterical bullsh!t like so many in this thread.

I just love the lack of objectivity in this forum.

If I argue in defense of gay rights, I must be a homo.

If I argue in defense of private business owners being allow to let smokers smoke on their private property, I must be a smoker.

If I argue against the war on drugs, I must be a druggie...

And now, if I argue against Spurlock's farce and against the myths of some alien meet substance being served at McDonald's, I must own a McDonald's.

Again, your suggestion about "ANY batter breaded chicken" further shows your affinity for low-quality foods. I can assure you that none of my chicken, batter, or anything else has MSG, modified starches, or anything else in it.

I've argued with you about this in the past, and I believe it came down to the fact that you don't care much about the quality of your food or ultimately what's in it, so any discussion we have is really moot.

I think the irony is that people eat chicken because they often feel it's a healthier alternative to beef, but the chicken is more processed than the beef.

To me, there is a large degree of beef quality as well, but I don't want to get into that argument with you because you'll just tell me that GMOs, antibiotic and hormone-laden meat, etc. is perfectly acceptable in practice and nutritional value. I feel such disgusting food practices are part of the problem and so refuse to eat them.

My point is this: The ingredients you listed for their breaded chicken strips are virtually the SAME at any restaurant.

I also note with great interest that you listed the breaded chicken ingredients over their grilled chicken ingredients in an effort to make it seem as if McDonald's somehow served some highly processed chicken.

Moot? Yeah, I'd say so.

Processed is not always bad. It's frightening how much people fear simple chemistry used to preserve and enhance foods in the face of absolutely no proof of harm.

The "organic" scam has become a religion based mostly on blind faith and fear.

What next, we blame sony for making tv's since they cause people to sit on their ass and not exercise?

Ah but the blame isn't only on McDonald's. The whole deal is that McDonald's is saying that eating their food everyday is healthy. To me cheeseburgers and fries with a diet coke every night is only going to lead to death sooner rather than later. Yes it is possible to feast on McDonald's every day and not die. But let's be more realisitic in terms of what people order at McDonald's and how much exercise an average person gets.

I'm sorry, but iver never heard them claim once that eating their food EVERDAY is healthy.

The general consensus in this thread, and what I've been arguing against is the irrational idea that McDonald's somehow serves food that is significantly different and worse for you than the same items served anywhere else.

YOU even said the beef and chicken served at McDonald's was somehow not real, 100% beef and chicken. It is. McDonald's main supplier is Tyson... buying the same chicken sold in supermarkets around the country.

And why not end it with something flippant? You did. My comments have all been in response to yours.

Ahh, now we're back into your organic scam nonsense.

In my eyes, you represent the pervasive mentality that I believe serves as a microcosm of all that is wrong with nutrition in America. That's not necessarily an attack on you, but since you so vehemently oppose any movement in the food industry to promote better quality foods I think it's appropriate to point that out. It's that same "trans fats aren't bad and it's so much cheaper to use" mentality that leads to epidemics when people realize the detriment when it's too damn late. It's lazy and it's irresponsible, imo. You can wait for studies that link any of the hundreds of chemicals used in processed to gastrointestinal disease or chronic allergies if you want, but I'd rather just try to eat healthier, and to me that starts with better quality foods.

Enjoy your processed foods all you want. It's your choice and I couldn't care less whether or not you express it. I grew out of it and I'm all the better for it.

:D <-- I don't have a flippant reply for you

And, again, you listed BREADED DEEP FRIED chicken as proof that their chicken is not 100% chicken? WTF??? How about listing the ingredients of their grilled chicken?

Processed is not always bad. It's frightening how much people fear simple chemistry used to preserve and enhance foods in the face of absolutely no proof of harm.

The "organic" scam has become a religion based mostly on blind faith and fear.

Trans fats and the organic food scam are two entirely different things. I can avoid trans fats all day long for the rest of my life and never touch an over-priced organically labeled food item.

Not all chemistry is bad. The religion that is the "organic" food scam throws the baby out with the bathwater. It's irrational, illogical and based mainly on fear. What else besides fear would induce you to nearly double, or even triple your food bill for no valid reason?

Dude, it's just stupid to think you can eat McDonalds for a year and be healthy. Just stupid. Most NORMAL people can't do that. Most NORMAL people don't even get 3 hours of exercise a week. Supersize Me may have been over the top, but it's not far from the truth, nor is it media spin. Eating Fast Food = Your health is at great risk.

McDonald's has grilled chicken, salads, and water. How is that any less healthy than any other restaurant? How are McDonald's or any other fast food burgers any less healthy than the burgers at sit down restaurants?

The joke here is your absurd, unfounded belief that the beef and chicken is somehow different. Please provide proof that the beef they sell is not 100% beef. Same with the chicken.

You cannot, because that's exactly what it is. Just beef and chicken. Not some evil alien food some of you think it is.

I didn't know about the beef, but I was responding to your "beed AND CHICKEN" remark, so my refutation was accurate with respect to the chicken.

Organic food is not a scam. We can argue this all day long. You simply don't understand it, and that makes you ignorant. I can't fault you for that; however, I can fault you for not making a better effort to understand the movement, its purpose, the people behind it, and the results. Any movement/program/whatever that is successful is not without exploitation of course.
