That's nothing. My grandpa's mailman was the mailman for like 15 years and he wanted to start a community investment fund. He basically took a million from the whole neighborhood (my grandpa was had for something like $30K) and fled. They caught the guy and my grandpa got the majority of his money back, but still.

..yup, call your local postal inspector and they'll do the investigation. I don't think that's the only item he's putting his hands on.

Contact Netflix about this mailman (give the specifics). Let them handle it.

There are worse things in life than stealing DVDs from a large corporation.

leave the poor guy alone, hes just trying to make a living dont get him fired from an (somewhat) honest living of 15 yrs, netflix has insurance they will live. if you turn him in imagine what his kids will have to go through, they will prolly get into drugs, etc while their dad is in prison, imo just buy the dvd and myob, i may go as far as convincing him to stop but thats it

The mail system is qute the oddity. It is somewhat of an archaic and yet sacred system. It has, for may years, been the sole communication and trusted entity within which our nations citizens have always placed their trust.

This man is not merely a government employee.

As a seemingly ordinary US Postal worker, he is relied on to let this countries citizens communicate freely under the protection of the Unites States government.

I amy be overdoing it here, but this guy represents our nation, and he is doing a horrid job of it.

We are to entrust our most private thoughts and our monetary gifts to a man who is directly and blatanty disrespecting the United States?!

And now Gosemaster stops with the bullsh!t:D :

I don't give a fvk whether it was DVD's or Kids' letters to Santa. His job is one where the indvidual is entrusted with the privacy and freedoms of this nations citizens, poor and rich, white or black etc. To see someone in such an honorable position disgracing himself like that is outrageous and he is a fvking moron for even trying it.

Would I turn him in?

Well, I won't say, but I am quite sure of what I would do.

I work for the USPS. If I saw or knew of this person I would have no choice but to turn him in. All USPS emplyees are civil servants and are sworn by oath upon entering the service to abide by certain rules and regulations. This person obviously works in a plant somewhere and is stealing dvd's and throwing them in the garbage .. later to retrieve them when no one is around. I can almost guarantee that the Postal Inspectors already know about him, and let me tell you that they do not play around. You rarely see them ... but when you do they are going to arrest somebody and they have enough taped evidence that your ass is toast!
If this asshat has been in the service for 15 years he is maxed out in salary... if he's working OT he is prolly pulling in 60-70G a year. He has no damn excuse to steal from the customers that pay his and my salary. This kind of crap reflects on the USPS as a whole and it will serve his sorry ass right when he gets pounded in the ass in the penn. I feel for his kids, I really do....but he made the choice to steal and he, and unfortunatey his kids will suffer the consequenses of his idiotic actions.

That is so unlike my postman.. he is the coolest. If I knew of some fvcktard who abused the public trust like that, I'd turn them in directly.

OK, lots of answers. Here's the real answer and it handles everything. No more missing DVDs. No more ripping off the large corp (who cares). No more disgracing the USPS(whatever that means). Brings the issue to an end, and the pigs don't get involved.

You buy 3-4 of the DVDs and take them home, then you come back over later in the day and tell the mailman guy, not the kid, the mailman, "Look, you're a stinking thief and it pisses me off. Steal another DVD and I go to the pigs with the evidence I bought, The end." Sure, it take some ba!!s to do it but it handes everything. No more missing DVDs. Do not call the cops! Ever!

don't ask a forum when this is purely based on personal ethics. you could buy cheap dvds and be done with it or turn someone in that already seems to be having issues with life

turn him in. It's a Federal offense and I hope he rots and his children have to find.... jobs :Q

Mailmen make a fairly good living so I doubt they need to steal dvds in order to keep clothed and fed.

This is what happened. A guy I know asked if I wanted to buy some movies so i asked him which ones did he have. He says, well I have all kinds of movies. So I asked if I could see which ones he had. He tells me to go over to his crib. I stop by his apt later on that day to see what movies he has for sale. He comes out to the living room with 2 HUGE BOXES full of DVD's in Netflix Sleeves. I'm like WTF!!!!

He says, "My dad is a postman and he takes a couple of boxes out to the trash, and later on when leaving his shift he takes them to his truck and brings them home." So he tells me I can pick any movie I want for like $3 each, including NEW RELEASES!

This guy is like 22yrs old and his dad works for the Unites States Postal Service. His dad is like 47yrs old and has been working there for 15yrs. His dad supports both his sons (20yrs old and 16yrs old) and they have no mother or any other family. The extra money he makes from the DVD's go towards groceries and clothes for his 2 sons.

What do you guys think I should do?

I wonder what else he's stealing out of the mail? Paychecks? Mail order prescription drugs? I bet he's got a lot more going on than you realize. Report him, he's got a minimum 5 years prison sentence for that - per incident. I don't think you'll have to worry about him coming after you.

Also anonymous tips from an out of city payphone are a good idea.

I would rat him out, anonymously if you prefer. I guess I can't see any good reason why this numbnuts should be given a license to steal just because he happens to have a family. He deserves to be canned and federally prosecuted.

Actually I helped prosecute such a case when I was working for a US Attorney's Office, except that person was throwing the mail away out of laziness. If anything this guy is much worse.

The asshole has box loads of netflix movies w/ other people's names on it in his fricking house, that's all the evidence the postal inspector needs.
