Personally, though I just drink a lot of water.
Much of the canned / bottled drinks are designed to not quench your thirst - just keep you drinking. Because, PROFIT. (Of course they rationalize it ... "hey, you need electrolytes, right? Here's sodium." )

Water dude, just drink water. If you want a snack, start making frozen smoothies rather than juice so you get the phytonutrients . get a box of bananas (40lbs for about $30 depending) and let them ripen up. Then peal them and freeze them. Then get bulk frozen berries from costco or sams club. Throw a frozen banana and some berries in a blender with varying armounts of water and blend it up. You can go from something you can drink with a straw to something you can eat with a spoon.
I concur. I make 12-16oz smoothies in the morning with a lil milk, plain greek yogurt, 1 banana & a cereal bowl worth of blueberries & strawberries.

Also, I have to drink over a gal of water & 1 32 ounce gatorade per day at work in summer. Sweat has to be replaced.
 
True Lemon comes in a couple flavors and uses the "best" artificial sweetener, a touch of cane sugar, and real lemon which is good for the kidneys. You can also put a big jug of water in the fridge and add some lemon or lime or whatever fruit you like to it and let it sit overnight before you drink it.

Yeah that stuff is great and they keep adding new flavors. I do find though with the lemon it gives me stomach troubles if I consume more than a quart a day.
 
Once I removed salt from my life for about 2 weeks I started to love sparkling water. Flavored, no sweetners, no salt, no anything. Just a hint of flavor and some bubbles. I love it.
 
What about Crystal Light?
This post got me thinking. My doctor told me to consider drinking Crystal Light, even over bottled Orange Juice, which I've since learned, is no-where near as healthy for you as "fresh squeezed", not to mention, it has a lot of sugar. (And sometimes, the "pulp" is really added cellulose.

So, this month, when I got my check, I went to walmart.com, and search for "powdered drink mix". They have quite a selection. I ordered a bunch of different ones as an experiment. I'll try to remember to post about them, when they arrive, and if they're worth-while drinking.

(Some Crystal Light, some Snapple, some "other". Don't really like that most of them use artificial sweeteners.)

Juice is unhealthy for you. Too much sugar and bad for your teeth. Eat a piece or two of fresh fruit instead.

Drink water and tea rather than anything with sugar in it.

Not to sound like an elitist snob, but check out the ingredients of those powdered drink mixes as most of them have some not so good ingredients and artificial sweeteners.

Well, I've discovered, I can't drink Aspartame-containing drink mix powders. Luckily, the "4C Iced Tea powdered drink mix" uses Sugar. Yay me.

For like $5, you get a honking huge canister of the stuff, with a free scoop. I liked my first container of it, so I went and bought another shipment of just this stuff. (Now where am I going to put it??? LOL.)
 
Might not work for you but I get the majority of my water from coffee. Used to drink it black but nowadays I add about 20% nonfat milk (reconstituted from powder). Don't drink alot of other liquids on a regular basis. Get some water from fruit and veges.

Tea is vastly popular, but I don't drink it regularly, just on occasion.
 
I drink these occasionally. Sparkling Ice. Naturally flavored sparkling water.

Lots of flavors and Target carries them for around dollar a bottle, (500ml)

Actually I would be careful about drinking juice. You can overload your body with sugar. You are better off eating the fruit instead.
 
I've never filtered my water. If I'm to believe the reports that EBMUD sends me, I'm good. Of course, they might not be honest about it.

While cities do testing at their wells, they don't do testing at your home. And there is a lot of pipe between their well and your home. That said I find the main thing people are filtering municipal water for (in the USA) is chlorine. Chlorine is added at treatment facilities and still shows up in your drinking water. The other is fluoride, though most general water filters don't filter out fluoride so you have to get special ones that don't last very long.

I thought the fluoride was added intentionally to combat tooth decay? Chlorine, my GF said she could taste it and didn't like tap water for that reason. I don't notice it, but then I seldom drink plain water. I suppose it does make a lot of sense to filter out chlorine, the stuff is kind of toxic, at least in some circumstances.

the thing about fluoride is that it exists in DIFFERENT compounds with different characteristics.

There is no specifics as to which fluoride is used in the water supply, usually.

I have heard of people from people who live where there is calcium fluoride who claim to have no cavities and then there are people who drink sodium fluoride and claim they do have cavities.

Look at the RESULTS. They tell you they put fluoride in water to combat tooth decay, but many people today have cavities and have had fillings put in.

I think that some people are much more prone to have cavities than others. My dentist, who has to be at least in his middle 60's has never had a single cavity. I was astounded to hear this.
