... and some more updates from moi!
Well... I had a bit of fun playing GTA IV running smooth at 60fps with detail settings to HIGH for most. Didn't play much, but had a lot of fun until last Friday.
Came home after trying all day to connect remotely to my PC and was never able to .
Well... my computer was turned off. Why? I don't know. But seing that my girlfriend's computer being at the login prompt, I figured we had a small power surge at home and most computers rebooted. (no blinking microwave clocks, though).
Tried turning the computer on. Nope. not working. No spinning fan, no. Nothing.
Well, seems like the PSU died on me. The previous power surge that might have killed my MOBO (which is basically the reason for this thread) had weakened the PSU enough for it to die at the next one. How it managed to work a couple of weeks is beyond my comprehension.
I didn't have time to test all my hardware. Hopefully, only the PSU died and that the new hardware is still intact. But I ordered a new PSU as this one was 6 years old and running 24/7 for that time.
I will also change my surge protector as IT. IS. NOT. WORKING. ANYMORE.
Will keep you updated.
