Somehow I never really got Seinfeld. Not really sure why. It's not that I think it's not funny at all, because I definitely laughed out loud a lot watching it, I just never get how a lot of people (like many of you on this thread) put this show *that* high up on the pedestal of funny sitcom.

Frasier though is the only one sitcom so far that could make me literally rolling on the floor laughing. I find that show absolutely hilarious. The irony is often times while watching the show I was laughing so hard I had to hold my sides and tears running down my face, my wife just sit right next to me with a blank stare on her face. She just never got it.

I kinda like NewsRadio. It has tons of moments that I enjoyed a lot.

Phil Hartman made SNL and Newsradio funny, with out him they both died. My fondest memory of him was the faux Ad for the Chameleon Car.

OMG! I thought I was the only person alive who couldn't stand Seinfeld...

Add to the list:

The Simpsons (after season 1)

I salute your courage, sir. I have never seen a Simpsons episode that got more than a meh reaction from me.

Also I agree that Seinfeld is lame.

See I think the problem is you, not me.
I never put it on a pedestal.
And the only real argument people can come up with is a response to a statement I didnt make.
"ITS NOT THE GREATEST SHOW EVER MADE!!!"
Well, I never said it was.

Its odd to me.

followed closely by The Office

The Office seems like a show built around awkward moments that aren't quite funny.

Like a slower version of Arrested Development with crappier characters and writing... set predominantly in an office.

Seinfeld...

That show, its creators, all copies of master tapes, and anyone who thinks about a seinfeld reunion, should all be taken out, and destroyed from existence.

I watched 2 episodes... and never could find anything remotely entertaining about it..

there's a reason that 99% of the actors from that show never did anything else.

99% of the actors from that show never needed to do anything else, because they made more money than you can imagine from starring in that show.

Well I guess my statement is not valid for you then. It just so happened that I replied to your post since you mentioned about other shows that I'd like to comment on :)

And to clarify, even people who actually do worship Seinfeld as the greatest show ever made, I don't think they're crazy. My post was in fact emphasizing your point about Seinfeld and Frasier, that people who don't think they're funny just simply don't get it. I was agreeing with you. I don't get Seinfeld, but I get Frasier. That's all I was trying to say.

/agree on Full House and Big Bang Theory as well.

Tyler Perry's House of Payne sucks huge, hairy donkey balls. There is only one reason that show is on air... but not going to be the one to say it.

Other horrible ones:
American Dad
Everybody Loves Raymond
Reno 911
later seasons of Scrubs

i'll start: cosby show, home improvement.

both should have all master copies burned in a bonfire for the sake of humanity.

wtf? those were both funny shows. home improvement is still funny on reruns.

imo, saved by the bell. i watched a rerun a couple years ago and wanted to slam my face into bricks.

btw, i guess 'everybody loves raymond' isn't funny to some people because they're single and don't understand what it's like.

you've got to be messed up in the head if you seriously think that the "simpsons" and "seinfeld" sucked.

FOR EVERYONE WHO READS THIS:
seriously, if you're going to post shows that you think aren't funny, please at least do us all a favor and post your age in your post.

FOR THE OP:
edit the op and tell people they need to post their age, too. 12-year-olds who don't find the humor in the "simpsons" or "seinfeld" or "everybody loves raymond" or "american dad" need to let us know that it's because they're 12.

The extremely long running BBC comedy, "Are You Being Served?". I've seen quite a few episodes of this (only because it's on like every PBS channel in existence) and have yet to even crack a smile. I've spoken to many Brits and none of them find it the least bit amusing either, which makes you wonder why the show was on for 15+ yrs?

i watched that show as a kid (middle schooler to high school) whenever i came home from school. i enjoyed that show.

I'm glad I'm not alone on this one. I could never get into that show. Yeah, it's a show about nothing, as in nothing funny. I'm going to play major devil's advocate and throw in The (American) Office, 30 Rock, and Arrested Development into the mix too. Americans never did master the art of dry/dark humour. Not even on the same level as British comedies.

Home Improvement had it's movements in the earlier seasons. The show didn't age well though.

Pretty much every American family sitcom falls into the same exact formula. Husband does something stupid, they fight, they make up, they have sex. End of episode. Just watch any random episode of any comedy like this. TV execs like these because they're safe and inoffensive. Pretty much any show like that is unfunny because they never stray outside the lines.

you're kidding me...

30 rock is hilarious as hell
arrested development is the funniest show ever made

it's kind of sad how many people need a laugh track to figure out what is and isn't funny.
