I'm a little shocked that more than one person has mentioned Family Guy.
Unless you are offended so much that you can't see the humor, I don't know how anyone could not laugh at this show.

The only thing about Family Guy that offends me is how brain-breakingly stupid it is. There is not one single part of that show that I even felt like snickering at. It is just not funny.

Seinfeld had a few funny moments, but I'm convinced that it's the most overrated sitcom ever. I think a lot of the reason people think it's funny is that laughter is contagious. i.e. the artificial laugh track is played & people chuckle along with it. The reason I hated the show is that I'm apparently not susceptible to such simple manipulation, and in fact, found it annoying enough (I don't think they ever go 2 sentences without the laugh track) that I hated the show.

I think a cool experiment would be to not use the name of the show, remove the laugh track, and show it to people who had never seen Seinfeld & see how humorous they find it. I'm betting not very much.

Too many shows to name. I'll instead say that of shows currently airing, almost every single sitcom on CBS is horribly unfunny. How I Met Your Mother isn't even funny anymore... it used to have a lot of clever plots, but this season has been pretty bad. Still, it's better than the other garbage on Monday night. I simply cannot understand how people find Big Bang Theory funny, for example. Or 2 1/2 men.

Curb your Enthusiasm is exactly that. Though I'm sure plenty of people watch that have seen Seinfeld, it's quite popular, and freaking hilarious.

I always thought the laughter on Seinfeld was canned, too; but it isn't. They do have a live audience and the laughter had to go through a lot of sampling and editing b/c the crowd would simply laugh too damn much. Consequently, it sounds fake and obnoxious on TV, like the Flinstones.

The extremely long running BBC comedy, "Are You Being Served?". I've seen quite a few episodes of this (only because it's on like every PBS channel in existence) and have yet to even crack a smile. I've spoken to many Brits and none of them find it the least bit amusing either, which makes you wonder why the show was on for 15+ yrs?

Must be a lot of younger folks responding, because no one has named some of the really crappy sitcoms from the 80s like Blossom, Night Court, Facts of Life, and others.

Seinfeld, I still cant see why anything thinks that guy is funny.

I'm glad I'm not alone on this one. I could never get into that show. Yeah, it's a show about nothing, as in nothing funny. I'm going to play major devil's advocate and throw in The (American) Office, 30 Rock, and Arrested Development into the mix too. Americans never did master the art of dry/dark humour. Not even on the same level as British comedies.

Home Improvement had it's movements in the earlier seasons. The show didn't age well though.

Pretty much every American family sitcom falls into the same exact formula. Husband does something stupid, they fight, they make up, they have sex. End of episode. Just watch any random episode of any comedy like this. TV execs like these because they're safe and inoffensive. Pretty much any show like that is unfunny because they never stray outside the lines.

Seinfeld...

That show, its creators, all copies of master tapes, and anyone who thinks about a seinfeld reunion, should all be taken out, and destroyed from existence.

I watched 2 episodes... and never could find anything remotely entertaining about it..

there's a reason that 99% of the actors from that show never did anything else.

Frasier was hilarious. I hate telling people "you just dont get it" but in the case of Seinfeld and Frasier thats pretty much it right there.

NewsRadio was great in the seasons that had Phil Hartman, even though there were some crummy episodes once in a while.

Somehow I never really got Seinfeld. Not really sure why. It's not that I think it's not funny at all, because I definitely laughed out loud a lot watching it, I just never get how a lot of people (like many of you on this thread) put this show *that* high up on the pedestal of funny sitcom.

Frasier though is the only one sitcom so far that could make me literally rolling on the floor laughing. I find that show absolutely hilarious. The irony is often times while watching the show I was laughing so hard I had to hold my sides and tears running down my face, my wife just sit right next to me with a blank stare on her face. She just never got it.

I kinda like NewsRadio. It has tons of moments that I enjoyed a lot.
