RapedMongoose is a Bjorker, not an American.

he's a cretin. personal attacks be damned.

people getting hurt and all that prick sees is an opportunity to copy and paste some bullshit that everyone sees in hals sig anyway.and we see that every 20 seconds on this forum on average.

anyhoo, fires in the distance. i'm off out for a walk, i may be some time 😱

dude? seriously? back the facts up ok? how would it generate more money? how would it be a step in the right direction?

Sure. Fully open up royal castles to tourism. Allow more tourism into the royal collection. That right there would generate a lot of money. The royal wedding itself cost tons of money and shrank British GDP.

British inbred royalist sympathizers keep saying that the monarchy makes money, but there's absolutely no proof of that.

how is the UK xenophobic and racist "as a country"?

Because the UK supports a discriminatory institution in the monarchy. How would you feel if you were told that you could never be the head of state of your country because of your religion? Why are you guys hating on Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc.?

can i make generalisations now then? ok, Americans as a whole hate gay people since you still don't allow them to marry each other legally in your country (not all states). you hate black people, you hate asians, you hate jews and are glad the holocaust happened, you keep the native americans downtrodden etc etc etc (same as the aussies and the natives there)

We have a black person as President. You guys basically demand that your head of state can never be a black person.

I really hope that this rioting takes down the British monarchy. It's a tradition that is not needed in the modern age. I really hope that the rioters storm all royal residences and claim the property for themselves.

Yeah fighting for freedom to loot and destroy others property

Looting and destruction seems to be rather minor in that video. It's mainly citizens fighting back the agents of the monarchy. It's an example of the human spirit. You can try to push people down, call them peasants. But they will eventually seek equality and fight back.

Chaves as Freedom Fighters? Is their new Flag going to be plaid?🙄

The root cause of this is nihilism bought on by social exclusion and a feeling that no one cares. It's not easy to integrate immigrant communities into nation whose national identity is built upon a history that immigrants can't relate to.

Reading articles on the Guardian's website, I can't believe they call the police over there "Feds." I thought it was an American term.

The UK is full of racism and xenophobia. It's a very racist country with people that support a racist institution in the monarchy. This isn't even something that you see in the US.

It's the most 'tolerant' country I've ever been to.

That's just an ignorant, incredibly stupid thing to say. Do you honestly believe there are no "interracial bars" in the US?

You made good points before this, but just.... wow. 🙄

What's an "interracial bar"... I just don't think about it like that. I'm not talking about NYC etc, and I'm not denying racism in certain parts of Engand, I'm just saying I've seen more of it in the US.

Really? It's probably the single most racist country that I've ever been to. Hell, I'm not sure what else you can expect from a country that built an empire on racism and murdering people of other racial groups.

What ethnicity are you anyways?

You spend too much time in Bars.

And the same racial group too. We killed indiscrimitately. For money and land. So did everyone else.

White. So what? My friends are a wide mix of people as London is more than 50% 'non-white' apparently. And so what to that too?

Why the fuck are we having this conversation again?

More so on the different racial groups, not to mention trying to hold on to them well into the modern age.

It just shows that you're part of the majority who likely has the ability to be the head of state of your country and not suffer from your country's discrimination. It's easy to say that there's no racism or little racism in the UK when you don't suffer from it (e.g., you can be your nation's head of state).

We're having this discussion because I wanted the rioters to overthrow the monarchy so that more money can go to the people. But I agree that this race issue is off-topic. I would be happy to discuss the merits of the rioters overthrowing the monarchy.

Wow you've been HEre? when was that?! Where did you go?

I would argue that this was nothing to do with race. More so to do with power. If the people were blue we would have taken all their shit anyway. That's the way people did things in those days.

Yes but I can't help that I, just as many peope I know, can't help being born to British/Indian/Pakastani/Napaneese/Veitnamese/whatever perents. In fact I'm half Irish - the old British Empire did just as much to my ancenstors that they did to everyone else. And the Germans? Don't even get me started on what they did to my family.

The bottom line is that we need to look at the world as it stands. How old are you? 25? 35? We can start something new. Unless we keep arguing about it....

I agree that we can start something new. And that's one of the reasons why the UK needs to abandon its traditions of monarchy. At the very least, the UK should put a visible minority in position of 'King' or 'Queen' if they still want to retain the basic monarchy structure. Otherwise, just abandon the monarchy. It has no place in a modern society.

From what I've been able to find out, while the Royal Family costs the UK roughly 42 Million pounds per year, they bring in an estimated half Billion pounds in tourist fees to Royal-related landmarks alone. This doesn't touch the other tourist spending, both direct and indirect.

Seems like a win situation.

The 42 million number is quite deceptive since it deliberately excludes many types of expenses, especially security.

Royals themselves don't bring in half a billion pounds in tourist fees. Tourists can't buy a ticket to dunk some inbred royal into a water tank. "Royal-related landmarks" are still royal-related landmarks without the existence of today's royals. Versailles is a great example.

The UK royal wedding a few months ago alone cost the economy $10 billion and shrank GDP growth by .2%.
