I hope someone puts a fucking bullet right behind that blind assholes eyes.
Yes I mean it.

If I am banned for this post. You guys have a Happy New Year - I'll see you next year maybe.

It's unbelievable how these jackasses get away with making these laws directly from their assholes.

Time for the awesome part: You know that 600 dollar increase for all SUNY schools? Well, 90% of that goes to something else other than the school itself. So it really only works out to 60 dollars per student in money that the school will actually see. Overall, the price for tuition here at SUNY Binghamton will be up 1000 dollars next semester compared to now.

I would move out of the state just for that one.

So with all those movies being shot in NY and they don't have extra money from all that.... I find it crazy.

I bet it has HUGE mafia ties and they have to pay out here and there

I heard on 60 minutes that every construction company in NY pays the mafia 2% of its earnings monthly.

State sales tax at movie theaters, sporting events

umm..this is already included in the ticket price and paid for by the business. do they think people are getting away with millions in untaxed revenues?

first and last of all, why is there a my-state-is-better-than-yours or simply your-state-sux attitude? WTF do you win?

Personally, I'd still rather be in NY than middle of fucking Kentucky, Montana, or Oregon. Oops, did I just do that? Well it's still true.

No way in hell this will pass. I almost wonder if he's doing this to make people freak out, get angry and when they're all pissed he'll 'compromise' to what he originally wanted. People will think they won and he'll get what he wants.

I'd much rather be in CT than NY. LIRR? Blows compared to Metro North. State tax? Blows compared to CT state tax. COL? Blows compared to CT COL.

As far as the asshat above making a statement about Patterson, he has cut the budget significantly. He can't cut everything all at once, although I agree with some that these massive taxes are just going to hurt NYC significantly.

If they bring back the commuter tax they are toast.

Bagnate,

You "get it". That's exactly what it is. It's called negotiating 101 and I'm glad to see somebody understands it.

Picture it as he is a used car saleman. "I'll sell you this used civic for 30,000 dollars"
Buyer - "WTF! rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble!"
Seller - "Oh, I see you drive a hard bargain! I've got to keep the lights on in this place so don't screw me here, how about 25,000 dollars?"
Buyer - "rabble"
Seller - "wow, you are really screwing me here. But I've worked really hard and can give you this used civic for 23,000 dollars."
Buyer - "OK!"

This is what I'm talking about. If everyone lived in the state that made the most sense, then there wouldn't be any lesser states. If everyone can just up and leave to the best state then... well wtf... my point is good for you, you live in a better state. As long as I'm not in boonfuckistan then I'm alright. What do people who claim their state is better because of this, that, and the other thing want from everyone else? What are we... playing sports?

i'm thankful not everyone wants to move to the best state. if utah had any more people, i don't know what i'd do.

Instead of fixing the spending problems, it seems their only solution is more taxes. Feel bad for people living in New York.

An average financial industry worker in Manhattan makes what, 150k/yr?

More income, more to tax.

Lots of those taxes are on luxury goods, most average Joes will not purchase those goods anyways, unless they are ballin' on a budget.

The average joe doesn't buy soda or alcohol? 😕

EDIT: Never mind, I had a brain fart. I get what you're saying.
