LOL Boehner's Plan Won't Even Pass in the Republican-Controlled House

Wasn't my comment. I was just pointing out the double standard that exists as usual. Not one GOP'er whined about that when Ryan gave his plan. They just touted the number including that part.

If they can keep coming out and including it when they promote the Ryan budget as a savings measure they can't dismiss it here as one.

Why are you adhearing to such a weak argument by claiming Ryan's plan makes Rieds 1 trillion of imaginary savings legitamate when comparing Boehners plan vs Reid's plan.

All sides agree and acknowledge that war spending will decrease inevitably. Reid's plan has taken credit for saving a trillion dollars that neither side intended to spend. Boehners plan does not do this. How does Ryan's plan change the fact that Reid's plan includes 1 trillion in phantom savings that Boehners plan does not?

Boehner can't even get enough votes from his own party in the House, so I don't see why anyone thinks it would make it through the Senate or the president.

Any changes that made it acceptable to the Senate would just lose the votes in the House when it went back anyway sooooo...

If this current Republican Bill in the House is defeated, then I would guess the Republicans will caucus and elect a new Speaker. This will be unprecedented but necessary.

If it passes then it ought to be the basis for compromise. Let's face it. It will be the only game in play. This is no Democrat legislation to read.

Boehner may be out no matter what happens given the way this whole thing has gone.

If it passes the house, it will die in the Senate. End of Story.

That might be true but then the Democrats ought have their own plan to vote on. Where is it? And if the Democrat plan passes the Senate is it dead on arrival in the House? Why should the House even allow a vote on a Senate passed plan? If there is one......

are there really so few moderates in the house that they cant get this fucking thing done?

So it would seem. You have some in the House who won't vote to raise the debt ceiling no matter what, you have some who won't vote to raise it if it includes any revenue increases (taxes), and you have some who won't vote for anything that even touches any entitlement programs. They are all out of touch with reality.

Edit: Oh, and forgot to mention the ones who think there's actually a chance for a balanced budget amendment to pass.

Moderate Repubs are scared shitless of the tea party element of their base.

That's what happens when Koch Bros money meets Faux News propaganda & tries to trample democracy mounted on the Tea Party, a truly convenient bunch of delusionists, at least for Radical Right monied purposes... The infighting among the Repubs is ferocious, with Boehner being the most scared of all. He knows how quickly his compatriots devour their own, and that Cantor is sharpening up the knives...

We'll see if enough of them have the grapes to side with HOR dems, do something reasonable, or not.

BREAKING NEWS: No vote tonight!

lolol

Can't even get enough votes for a plan that's already doomed to fail. Markets gonna get raped tomorrow.

Wonder if rich people can short their way to a profit out of this shit.

probably. They probably orchestrated it.

This shit pisses me off so much. A manufactured crisis in the middle of real problems. Fucking idiots we are.

Buying protection in the synthetic derivatives market has been incredibly cheap, so the profit potential is enormous.

It's kinda like a horse race, where you employ shills to bet heavily against your own horse, then throw the race. Losing the purse is nothing compared to winning the bets...

Obama has already caved on the tax issue. The GOP has won this policy wise. The fact that any members of the GOP caucus are too extreme to recognize victory when it is staring them in the face, and hence cannot cross the finish line, underscores that there is something deeply wrong with the GOP right now. I think Boehner will close the deal and get his votes, but the GOP's fortunes may start to ebb in the near future. Any time the ideological pendulum shifts too far in one direction, the electorate has a way of correcting it.

What we are witnessing right now in the republican party is a coup. A coup to toss out the old base and the takeover by the tea party. At first that wasn’t clear, but that is what we are now about to witness. That is why the US government, default, economic disaster, all are moot in this tea party coup. Take no prisoners.
Old school Republicans like McCain, McConnell, Boehner are about to be replaced by a new leader, Eric Cantor.
Tonight the republican party, the Reagan republican party, is about to be overthrown.
A real old fashion coup before our very eyes.
The US economy? Default? Ravaged middle class? All moot. All the victim of the coup.
Republicans have played up to the tea baggers, in hopes to gain their support. The republicans made a deadly mistake. The lion is about to turn on its owner.
We will default. Stocks will crash. 401K's will all but disappear. Blood will be spilled and the republican party will be no more. The tea baggers will fully control one half of the American government, then begin their attach on the other half, the Whitehouse and the democrats. In the end, everything will be destroyed. This will be worse than the depression, the civil war, and any world war America has gone through.
The American coup of 2011.
Stay tuned.. we will see.

"All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills."

Do you rooks even know how govt works?

This is the same Rep Cantor, et al. saying this as that also said that they can pass a budget w/o the Senate's approval. Same GOP that wants to pull some horseshit maneuver where the Pres is responsible for spending requests.

Same GOP that run up the Fing debt in the first place w/ all the taxcuts and mandatory spending programs and now don't want to pay for (w/ either revenue or borrowing)

If you don't know what the D's have been suggesting the house originating bill look like, the stuff that has been talked about all summer, you are either illiterate or deaf.

All you TP'ers keep repeating you line if you want to, but don't expect everyone to be as foolish as you in return.

The average Tea Partier will tell you that its the McCains, McConnells, and Boehners that have taken over the Republican party and they need to be purged...

Where's the GOP JOBS bill? How many jobs has Boner created since they took over? Unemployment was under 9% when they took over, now we are at 9.2% on the way to god knows what w/ this leadership.

The GOP 112th Congress has been a historic failure. Even Newt got more done.

There's a theory floating around that because the Senate Democrats have said the bill is DOA when it gets to them, the Tea Party members are refusing to be on record voting for the Boehner Plan since it'll come back to bite them in the next election with their TP constituents.

:hmm:

So if that's true they basically think they'll stand a better chance if their entire party looks fractured and impotent? 😛

Hell, even if it gets them re-elected, it won't get them into the leadership positions in the House. As long as they are outside of the power structure, they aren't going to fulfill many of their goals. Assuming they have a goal beyond just pure obstructionism, that is.
