Six and one half dozen of the other. If we default on the loan the results could be unpredictable. If we keep going the way we are the results will not be pretty. Either way the system is clearly broken and until the American people demand change it won't happen.

baloney. we can borrow money all day at 3%. There is no crisis.

Except what Republicans create.

You can't have it both ways. Either there is a crisis or there isn't and it doesn't matter whether republicans are creating it or not. In this case, the republican party, half the government, is broken. They are deeply divided and have become a bunch of loud mouthed deadbeats incapable of upholding the constitution and promoting the interest of the nation. I could find a 3 year old child willing to stand in congress and scream "No New Taxes!" and willing to hold the economy hostage to their demands.

Not paying your bills because you can't and because you won't are two separate issues. Any looming uncertainty from the former has been taken by Republicans to immediate likelihood with the latter. This crisis is totally a Republican construct. One they are continuing now by filibustering Reid's bill in the senate. Four days away from default and Republicans are filibustering by what all accounts is McConnell's compromise bill. $2.75B in cuts, no revenues, and Obama has to raise the debt limit two more times in 2012. And McConnell is refusing to work with Reid in even finalizing it. This is un-fucking-believable.

It's stupid partisan hacks like yourself that are the problem actually. The two parties play idiots like you against similar idiots on the other side of the isle to stay in power and continue screwing the country. The idiots on both sides are too busy blaming each other to realize that real changes are needed. Congrats on being a willing pawn in their game.

Totally nonresponsive rant to a post that made some excellent points.

This is getting fun.

The ballot box does not seem to be bring about the changes we need. I guess that leave the ammo box and the streets.

Bring it on.

Bobo, the Post Turtle, has always said he wanted to fundamentally change America. He is getting his wish.

Wow, you are such a tough guy. Another right wing shootout in the streets revolution dreamer, you are a dime a dozen.

Why don't you ask your mom to dress you in your play clothes today and you spend the day outside playing guns with your imaginary friends.

You've got it wrong. He wants to destroy the government that gives, between he and his wife, 5 government retirement checks (IIRC). Well, I'm sure he wants it only destroyed for those that come "after" he gets his and is done.

Didn't they teach you about treason when you were supposedly in the military? Or was the oath you swore to join the marines now null and void?

If you had any integrity at all you'd change your icon. Your behavior is an absolute insult to the Marines.

Sounds like GOP is intent on maximizing the political damage to itself by bringing the house debacle to the Senate. I say let them. Start shutting down the government. Tell the people that GOP is obstructing the solution.

hahaha. The GOP is just grandstanding to their "grass roots." This isn't as big of a problem as it's being made out to be. The GOP and Democrats will reach a solution at the 11th hour like always.

You mean they'll do just enough to keep the economy from sinking altogether. That's not a solution, its the same old problem.

Two weeks ago I would have agreed with you, but these Teabagger idealogs are bat shit crazy. They really want to destroy our government so that they can remake it in the fantasyland image of some America that never existed.

House is currently voting on the Reid Plan....

I thought the Democrats had no plan? Anyways, needs 2/3 majority to pass.... while the Boehner Plan only required only 1/2+1 to pass.

I don't recall of hearing that any bill before the House needs needs 2/3's to pass. Can you please explain?

TIA

The House leadership placed it on a Suspension Vote - requiring 2/3 majority to pass. They wanted to make sure there was no way in hell that it would pass anything.

Reids bill just voted down in the house. Big surprise. So glad I have my life savings invested in the stock market. The 2012 election should be interesting when all the dust settles after the unnecessarily induced double dip comes down.

Ahhh, thanks. I hadn't heard of that before, "suspension vote"?

I guess they're pissed that Reid keeps tabling their bills.
