Okay TheVrolok I hate to do this but I'm going to anyway, Oprah killed it for the show. Definitely not the same.

I'm confused, so you're saying you thought the Oprah narration was bad?

Picture quality is fairly poor for me as well.
ha! My son watching.... "Why doesn't the frog just carry two tadpoles at a time?"
I don't think I could stand to watch a nature documentary narrated by someone without a british accent. It's weird, I know.
Too much jumping around without a continuous theme.
she's only one of the highest paid females in the history of this fucking planet.
Funny some refer to her as a media whore...lolz.
Looking forward to this show. She's done a lot of voice work for successful projects.
that desert chameleon blew my mind. before oprah even mentioned the dark\light color it was holding, i knew wtf that chameleon was up too.
then those monkeys smashing those nuts with large rocks....evolution anyone?
I loved the camera work on the intro of the pebble toad. the scene with the pebble toad just minding his own business and the tarantula in the faded background was pretty good.
Yeah, I interpreted the Capuchin smashing nuts scene as a big Eff You! to all the fundies.

haha same.
I'm at home with my parents for the week, and watched it with them.
I had to comment, "haha see primates are badass. We use tools!"
Primates aren't the only order that uses tools.
yeah yeah but we're the best at it![]()
Saw the 1st episode last night. Thought it was awesome. I don't like Oprah, but her voice didn't bother me.
shhh. he's trying to use that as "proof" that we aren't primates. :sneaky:
Yeah, I agree.
I was enrapt by the animals like the pebble toad, didn't pay a whole lot of attention to Oprah's voice. She wasn't distracting or particularly engaging as a narrator, but that's fine. If I purchase the set I'll go with the BBC/Attenborough one for sure, though.
some say there are a few different scenes that are included in the us and not the bbc, and vice versa. I'm going to have to sit through both to tell. I will definitely be getting the BBC version of life on bluray, but I really didnt mind oprahs voice last night when watching it on tv.The only difference between BBC and the US version is narration, correct?
