Getting drunk sucks. Glass of wine with dinner FTW.

do you hate fun?

I go straight from 2ish glasses of wine to room spinning/feeling sick. Drunk is not fun.

I don't drink wine, but I agree that drunk/spinning is not fun. If I can hit the perfect spot where I'm just getting loose and a little tipsy, I enjoy it. Takes about 4-5 beers over the course of 1-2 hours for me. Problem is, if I have any more than that, I get miserable and don't enjoy myself at all. It's hard to pace myself just right - if I'm still drinking when I start to feel tipsy, I've usually overdone it and will be unhappy within half an hour.

I don't quite understand drinking to get drunk, though I suppose some people have higher tolerances than I do. Some of my friends can put away twice as much as I can while still staying on their feet and active, while I'll be throwing up or sleeping.

I can keep drinking until I black out, and apparently can continue to drink once blacked out, and even threw up from it once or twice... but it pretty much takes a deliberate act for me to get that far gone. Somewhere past seventeen shots in a night is when I start doing things like deciding it's time for me to be naked, even though everyone else is still fully clothed.

Oh don't get me wrong, I love a glass of wine with my dinner.

Then I also like a glass of wine with my wine.

And then another glass with my napkin.

And one for my fork.

Then one for my knife.

And then one for the pole I have pics taken of me dancing on later on that night.

fixed that for ya :p

btw, do you ever drunk raid? we have a couple that do, and during the course of the raids the conversations get fairly odd at times.... sucky part is when they cant tell they are messing up.

oxidative stress from booze will make you end up looking like Keith Richards. Be a true leather face and guzzle a gallon.

I find it odd that people talk about drinking like it's fun or entertaining, but then explain why they do it with descriptions like "puking all night" and "did some really stupid things". Doesn't sound like a good time to me. I'll stay sober, thanks, but you go ahead and do whatever you want.

i know my limits and can get plenty drunk without using either of those to describe my night.

gimme a cheeseburger or some brats and a boatload of beers and im a happy, happy

there is a very good chance that i will consume less than 10 beers this weekend. i don't have any beers for tonight.. gotta dry out a bit, been hard at it as of late and my body is letting me know. not only the partying and drinking, but hockey, volleyball and a couple rounds of golf per week. these old bones are feelin it 0_0 plus even though i'm staying active, my eating and drinking habits combined with my mostly-desk job and sedentary lifestyle at home still leave me with a substantial spare tire. fail. need gym and diet, stat.

This happened to be one New Year's eve in Venice.

T'was not as fun as it sounds.

I've only hit full-on blackout twice, and the stories I'm told of what transpired afterward are, well, not for the faint of heart.

I don't really drink ot get drunk. I get very talky when with people, and while drinking. I just really enjoy myself and keep drinking as I go. it's never a "See how much I can drink, brah!" It's just that once I start, I tend to drink a good bit, and usually for no good reason. I like the taste of beer and wine, so yeah.

i've heard there is a word to describe this behavior.

I enjoy a few beers and / or a Johnny Walker black now and then , but just had shoulder surgery( labrum , cuff and bicep repairs).
I don't wish to be the next Karen Quinlan , so no drinking for me , even at the Card's game.
Sure would be nice to have a few in the heat at the game , but I'll save a bunch of money at least.
