What would happen if you told her you were coming over to her house tonight to pick it up?
Breaking and entering... I thought of that and, while I have the receipt in front of me ($3,023.95...argh!!!!) the cops woudl still give her the benefit of the doubt and we'd have to go to court and I may spend the night in jail... Argh..
No, no, not breaking and entering. Just tell her you're coming over to pick it up. Just as if I lent you a CD a while ago, and said I'd stop over tonight to pick it up. You're not suggesting you're going to fight her for it. Assume she'll hand it over willingly unless told otherwise.
I've tried that time and again. First she agreed to it! Said she needed a week to clear stuff off.. Now she refuses to give it back after I gave her the week..
"Hey, Mary, I know we talked about that PC I lent you, and I need to pick it up tonight. Would 7 or 8 be better for you?"
If you do have to pursue legal action, it would look good for you that you tried to get it back. The way it is now she could say she fully intended to return it but she kept forgetting.
