Stop reviving this horrible thread!

L4D2 sucks. I shall continue to play HoN instead. Although I am starting to really miss dota! D':

The problem with the game is it relies on a small team to accomplish something. If either team is unbalanced it leads to vote kicking or people dropping. Also people like to drop when they know they are going to lose a whole vs match. Most multi-player games can hide the nubs or bad player by mix with enough good or great players. But since the teams are soo small one bad player is obvious to tell and clearly hurts the whole team. Dont get me wrong my brother and I had some fun times when it first came out but they should have either killed L4D1 or made it one big patch update kinda thing where L4D1 and L4D2 were the same game or waited 4 years? Then again I bet they did not think L4D1 was going to be as popular as it was.

i dont really understand why valve removes the demo versions of the game. I bought l4d1 based on the demo. i held off buying l4d2 based on the demo and my spite for releasing a sequel/expansion pack so soon.

after that i think they made the demo exclusive to people who pre-ordered l4d2. i hate when they do this because you can't order based on the demo because you needed to buy the game to play the demo...

Same here. I bought Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 on STEAM when they were a package deal I think at $7 or something.

Played a few hours of campaign. Haven't reloaded them yet.

I was wondering the same thing. I fired up the game last week and there were two active games total. This was like 8PM PST, prime time.

I bought this game for $5 and no one is fucking playing! WHERE IS EVERYONE?!

Fuck I hate this shit... So many shitty servers too. No server browser functionality. (openserverbrowser is broken. It can't actually show games)

which is why a lot of people dont play it

you need to have a well stocked friends list, and then play with them.

The last thing u also want to do is pub a survival map.

The elitism is fucking high in this game. If you are any sort of noob in versus your teammates will generally vote kick you.

I will be one of the first people to kick a noob if:

1 - he/she does not have a mic. Could you imagine playing football without being able to talk to your teammates?

2 - he/she does not follow instructions. If your a total noob, just bought the game, has less then 20 hours playing time, dont know the maps,,,,, you better listen to when an experienced player tells you not to do something.

However: If the noob has a mic, and is making a real effort to be part of the team, then no vote kick.

I'll be the first to vote kick, or the first to help - the decision is left to the noob.

Your probably right. I dont play "for fun" - I play to win.

But like I posted before, I will be the first person to help a noob - I will walk them through the game, give them advice on every step, explain every attack/ambush spot, when to attack, when not to attack,,,, and so on.

However, if their not willing to at least put forth some kind of effort, I will also be the first to call a vote kick.

What else are you supposed to do? You have someone on your team that does not even know how to move, does not know how to shoot, does not know how to jump, does not know how to heal, and they finally die standing in the spit,,,,,, what do you do?

Do you pat them on the back and say "its ok, you dont have to try",,,, or do you vote kick and tell them to go play single player?

Other than having a mic, he's not too far off. Someone without a mic can at least listen. L4D2 is a team game, and if someone doesn't want to be a team player, they get kicked off the team.
