I do not miss Kurt Cobain one iota, and I do not feel any sympathy for a rich, healthy, talented man who stuffs himself with booze and dope and then blows his head off leaving his young daughter fatherless. God help little Frances Bean, with parents like Kurt and Courtney she is probably gonna be in rehab while she is still in elementary school.

From reading posts in this thread it's not too hard to see who is a bitter old man with a cheating whore of a wife.
I would be angry with the world too.

Anyone who says anything bad about nirvana or kurt is either someone who was hurt by his
suicide or an idiot who listens to meaningless crap like the backdoor boys or that bastard slim enema or
whatever his stupid jackass name is

Wow I'm really glad I started this thread.

I know there are a lot of people who didn't like him, or his music. And I too think it's cowardly to blow your brains out, especially when you have a wife and daughter. But unfortunately some of you must have poor reading skills, as my original post had nothing to do with any of that. But whatever, Nirvana was never for the masses anyway, you guys have proven that in this thread. So go back to your trance music and forget I said anything. :)

Some of you people are dolts.
Obviously, this is a thread that was created for someone to express their feelings in hopes of remembering an individual.
I don't care if its kurt cobain that died, or tom cruise. The point of this thread was to pay tribute, and to create a common thread for people who actually enjoyed his music.

Amish, I just lost all respect for you. Blatant hatred is senseless, and you know damn well your opinion couldn't be given two fvcks around here.

<< He was an over-rated junkie loser. >>

Oh really? So was Bradley Nowell, Shannon Hoon, Jimmy Hendrix, The Stones, the Chilli Peppers, and every other famous, amazingly talented explosion of in the music industry that ever dared to dabble on the dark side. Obviously you're to ignorant to recognize that there MIGHT just be a strange relationship between musical talent and heroin. [/b]SAD-BUT-TRUE[/b].

You're only insulting your own intelligence by writing him off as you are. Whether you, or anyone else chooses to admit it, the following and devastation of his music was influential in itself. His music did change the course of the industry, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not. Its too bad you're ignorance has clouded your arguments. Do a little research on Seattle circa 1980 - Late 90's.

Well, wretched success has claimed the life of more than just this person. It happens to many people in rock and stardom, sadly. He never wanted to be a superstar. He didn't want his venues to be bigger than bars. He didn't want to perform to arenas full of fans, nor did he appreciate the cult following that haunted him on a daily basis. His mental and physical problems, as well as addiction led him to his death. Too bad he had 2-3 times over the lethal limit of drugs in his body when he was found dead, unable to even life the shotgun and coordinate a shot to his head. Strangely they still haven't been able to answer why the shells and gun were left with no finger prints. There are many unknowns surrounding his death and not very many things were done to learn otherwise.

Amish. You're a fool. You clearly don't care about the artists at hand, nor do you want anymore than to be a piece of flamebait.
Show some respect and just pass on by next time you see a thread you feel like sh|ting in - or do you have nothing better to do?

If he hadn't died, I bet Nirvana would've faded out by now.

Face it, he wasn't much of a guitar player, and he definitely couldn't sing live at all,(see the unplugged album) but the ability to play 3 chords on the top 2 strings has made stars out of many people.

He simply had the right sound at the right time. That's it. He was much bigger after his death then he was in life. Sad, but true.

Gee thanks!

Actually, watching you monkeys dance is very entertaining. :)

Well, I don't know who Nowell or Hoon are. Hendrix was pretty good. I never really liked the stones, and I think the Peppers suck.

According to you, these people are all "junkies".

Oh, really? Is it? Than explain the phenomenal relationship the two have?
You're clearly not worth argueing with.. you're out of your league with very little concept of what the artists and individuals at hand.

Just walk away... don't look back..

Did he use a clean needle or finish off a slam he started the night before?? By the way what brand shot gun was it? Hope it wasen't a ricer gun.

Did they use drugs? Then they are junkies. Simple as that.

<< Oh, really? Is it? Than explain the phenomenal relationship the two have? >>

So, in your opinion, the only "good" musicians are those that use heroin. A musician can't be good of his own right. He has to have the drugs to be any good?

Maybe you are right. I really have a tough time when I'm programming until I get that first fix of caffeine.

The only person out of your list that I think has any talent is Hendrix.

Okay this must be the poor reading skills coming into play again, so let me elaborate a little. I said I remembered it "more vividly." I didn't say it was more important, or more meaningful or made me feel more sad or whatever. I just meant in terms of the "flashbulb memories" I have I remember hearing that KC died clearer than what happened on 9/11, probably because I saw 9/11 unfold, and no one really knew what the hell was going on. 9/11 is really more of a blur to me, because it was so long. Hell I remember the OJ verdict "more vividly" than 9/11, and I don't give a crap about OJ. That's all I meant; probably a bad comparison there on my part. But then again my whole post was misinterpreted, no worries though, I'll try to do better next year. :)

It was April 8, 2002...around 7:15 PM. I was surfing AT while heating up some frech fries for my kid. I was reading a thread regarding the anniversary of the death of Kurt Cobain when it suddenly hit me...Electric Amish is a heartless b@st@rd.

How can someone relish in the tragic death of another simply because they don't like his music?
>>

Tragic death? Tragic: bringing great harm, suffering. The man killled himself!!! That's hardly a tragic death. More like a weakling who couldn't deal with reality.

His death was no loss because while living, he was a useless heroin addict.
