<< So ironic it's not even funny. >>
No, not so ironic... I personally hate flamefests, as there's nothing to be accomplished from them. I felt compelled to post because of the vastly misplaced sentimentality displayed for a junkie. Is the father who euthanises his handicapped daughter because he "couldn't bear to deal with her pain" to be vilified or worshipped for taking life?? Same circumstances no, same senitments expressed by the involved parties, yes.
It just irks me that a generation that identifies itself by it's apathy (read laziness), finds reason to open up emotionally over someone who "eptomized" what the believe in. >>
Hmmm pretty speech, too bad you must have skipped what I quoted.. I guess you didn't get it. Pity.
On that note, just because someone finds comfort in that, doesn't mean that's wrong. Everyone is entitled to their own idols, and he happens to be that way to many young kids struggling in life. Hendrix was an amazing player, he revoluntized guitar players today.. died as a result of a drug overdose. He was a junkie too, yet people still look up to him today. I did as a guitar player. Joe Walsh, drugs, Keith Richards, drugs, those they are not dead, they were junkies too. I fail to see your point.
