heh 40-50 degrees and some drizzle <> -2 degrees. Lambeau will be testicle shattering cold, and getting tackled is going to hurt much more.

The Pack are practicing outdoors in the cold this week, they will be used to it. SF will not.

You know, we have to wear jackets at night, YEAR-ROUND, up here!

They also changed policy that if you pay for a playoff ticket and the team does not make the playoffs, you do NOT get a refund

WTF?

Any season ticket holder that does not attend the game should forfeit their season tickets to a real fan.

why? playoff tickets are never part of season ticket packages. They simply get primary access to buy playoff tickets, as with any other team in any other sports league.

However, if what was said above is true, and they aren't refunded tickets in the event the team does not make the playoffs, then that is pure BS. No franchise does that, and good for the fans for not buying them under such a horseshit policy.

In the same way that we "own" our own cities and roads and federal government by paying our taxes. The only difference with GB, as far as I'm aware, is that they get this funny little slip of paper that entitles them to "X Shares" of the franchise. ....whatever that means.

Green bay only has itself to blame for this. They expanded the stadium again for 2013 that included over 7,000 new seats.

I wonder how many shares it takes to have one of the players come shovel your driveway

I've always been struck how the phrase "real fan" seems to have 100% overlap with "mindless idiot." For example, if your team demands you to buy postseason tickets in November when your team is not in playoff position and announces there will be no refunds on the likely event the team fails to make the playoffs, the only people buying those tickets are "real fans" (mindless idiots). Offering unconditional support to a team that doesn't care about you beyond what money you can provide isn't a trait anyone should be proud of, unless they're a "real fan" (mindless idiot). Being a "real fan" of anything, whether it's a sports team or political party or video game manufacturer or car company or music genre or whatever is just an invitation to turn your brain off, give up on thinking and yell when commanded. And that's for mindless idiots.

Most a single person can own is 200 shares, which is a drop in the bucket.
So you would need a lot of friends/family to get to that level. :)

It actually breaks the current NFL rule for owners but GB was grandfathered in.

I don't know why you guys think SF would be unprepared for the weather at Lanbeuax. Have you ever been to SF? The weather here isn't that great--it's usually really foggy, can be chilly at game times, and it does rain at the end of the season.

They are used to playing in chilly wet conditions.

:colbert:

West coast "chilly wet conditions" are nothing in comparison to what they get around the Great Lakes. Have you been to the upper Midwest in the winter? *shivers*

No offense Zin, I just want my 'Hawks to play GB rather than SF. There are only so many games in a row where SF will come to SEA and lose.

You never get a refund. It goes towards next years season tickets.

The 49ers did the same thing the past 2 years. Only reason they didn't this season is because not everyone is getting seats in Santa Clara. I already had to pay for my 49er playoff tickets should we get a home game..

I am somewhat surprised SF didn't rent out some local college field for a few days leading up to the game to run practice on and attempt to acclimate.

I know Russell Wilson does not put up huge numbers, he isn't asked to do so anyway. So to my surprise he is one of only 3 QB's to throw for more than 25 TD's in his first two seasons. The others being Marino and Manning. He is first in wins over his first two seasons as well, surpassing Marino's record in Week 15 I believe.

"The Separation is in the Preparation" - Russell Wilson, probably one of them most cerebral QB's in the league already. Maybe that is an extension of his Baseball career, which is the most cerebral sport.

hey hey hey! (I am trying to be facetious) I suffered 5 winters in Chicago.

Make no mistake, Seattle is my NFC team in these playoffs. My loyalty to Wilson trumps anything I get out of local factor for SF. Though I would pull for SF in the SB, unless they are playing the Chargers.

the stuff we have going on right now is cold for us even. Its so cold they are playing the "When it gets this cold, the salt just doesn't melt the ice. So drive careful out there!' stupid message on the radio. It makes me want to ram my car into the radio station.

Good man!

Never knew about your time in Chicago. Knew about your time in N. Carolina, but not ChiTown.

The 49ers should get a place so they can practice in the cold. They can run the ball and have a strong defense, both will help in cold weather.

Here in the Seattle area, 1" of snow practically shuts down the entire area. But there are many steep hills and we just aren't used to much, if any, snow. Which now that I am out of grade school is fine with me.

So usually when it's cold it's also wet (but for this game it won't be wet). I was about to make a post that when it's that cold running the ball should be easier than passing. Thinking is WR's fingers will be more stiff and harder to make those gentle catches.

Also when it's cold, tackling just sucks. But I think I'd rather be the ball carrier than the tackler every time, plus SF has 3 solid backs to share the load with a good O-Line.

Little shocked they didn't travel early to acclimate to temp..

As am I, said basically the same thing in post #140. If your Niners make it to Seattle, what do you think the odds are for them to pull off that road victory? How much of a concern are their past couple games they played in SEA where the 'Niners were simply schooled?

Even though SEA has demolished the 49'ers in SEA recently, I would rather face another team. Same division teams can only beat the other team only so many times in a row. Familiarity, law of averages, whatever you call it. Just worried that 49'ers next visit to SEA will be theirs based on that if nothing else.

I like the chances, but if I had to put money on it, I'd pick SEA. This is me being a homer - Last year we didn't have anything to play for, and this year we were pretty competitive until the third quarter when things started to unravel. I don't know what is going on, but Seattle has looked to be in an offensive funk for the last third of the year.

That familiarity and law of averages has me scared for the game against GB. Winning 4 in a row against them isn't going to be easy.
