Werd.

Book burning? Geez, Rip. Can you let the hyperbole rest for just *one* day?

Guess not.

From Howard Dean:

"I think a library trustee is a pretty important job" - and that's because the Bush administration "likes book-burning more than reading books."

Funny, I don't see George Bush trying to ban the more than 50 books that are critical of him, nor did I see him try to bam Michael Moore's movie.

Seems to me that John Kerry is much greater threat to our right to free speech than George Bush.

That's because he's too busy making sure the genral population can't afford to buy a book. :D

Hey, how about this, whenever rip posts something, if you have any shred of intelligence, don't reply! That way, no one will ever make a big deal out of his posts (only the idiots will reply). There is no point in trying to argue with him since his mind is made up, why bother?

JUST STOP RESPONDING TO STUPID THREADS. Or Hijack them

At least you're not trying to get me to banned like other libs here so there's signs of progress.

What don't you libs understand about the first ammendment right to free speech?

Why doesn't Kerry and his supporters respond to the charges against him rather than trying to silence everyone who challenges his account? Is it perhaps because you/he CAN'T?

Kerry will kick your mindless leaders A$$ when the debate comes. That is if the chicken (who isn't afraid to send others to their deaths) has enough guts to debate him.

Debating Kerry is like shadow boxing since it's anyone guess what his views are since they change depending on what's politically expedient at any given time.

Not even the "intellectually inferior" blacks and Hispanics?

Why should I hate them? The only people in this country I hate are criminals and people who exploit college affirmative action policies. Blacks provide me with the NFL, and both blacks and hispanics contribute significantly to the fast food industry in my area.

The Grand Wizard has left the building!

So what you are saying, is you support banning of books that have lies in them. Thanks for clarifying.

Books about people that are untrue can have legal consequences and don't have to be "banned". Rip is the one uses the inflamatory terms "book ban" and "book burning". He never posted any link he just pasted this:

'No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them,' Kerry campaign spokesman Chad Clanton tells the online mag.

All you right wing spin doctors are trying to make it sound like Kerry is banning books. You believe your own lies!!

That's what they said about Al Gore.
And he did. Some people were impressed with Bush's performance only because the Bush campaign lowered expectations so dramatically. When Bush didn't drool on himself, he exceeded expectations.

So would you say the same thing if bush called for publisher to stop printing any of the anti-bush books?

Somehow i doubt it.

Read a transcript of his DNC speech. I already made a post on this before. Kerry has brought up his vietnam experience as part of his presidental qualifications all on his own. It's in this thread.

Well, it's a cinch that Bush isn't running on his war record now isn't it. Why is that? I guess it's because they can't find any records, huh.

I dunno about you, but I'm not gonna elect someone based purely on his military record. You're completely right on that part, military action does not equate to being a good leader. So why hasn't the Bush administration denounced the swiftboat veterens yet? Kerry has denounced the most recent ad that attacked Bush because he realized that this is just mindless slander. Why hasn't the Bush campaign done the same? It's because the Bush campaign WANTS this crap in the political fire.

Actually Bush denounced all 527 ads and commended Kerry for his service.

Post the link please.

As for comparison to me, some of your liberal friends have dismissed Bush voters as uneducated, brainwashed, moronic, and many other variations of these. And that includes nearly half the country. I don't consider myself right winged anyway. FWIW, I don't hate anybody.

Perhaps you don't realize what the posters I mentioned do as you agree with them.

None of the liberal posters you mentioned commits any of the misdeeds that define Riprorin's entire persona here, and none of them are racist assholes like you.

You can say you don't "hate anybody" all you want, but when you are calling entire ethnicities "intellectually inferior," it's time to take stock of yourself as a person and understand who you really are - in your case, a bigot.

You are being similarly disingenuous by feigning neutrality when you are obviously conservative. I consider you the lowest kind of moral coward on all counts.

Uh-huh, and the Bushwhackos would have John Asscroft define and limit it, corner the market on whatever was left, secretly give a monopoly license for it to Haliburton, who would, in turn, create seventeen separate, secretly interlinked offshore subdivisions in the Bahamas for trading in speech and speech futures, shipping it back and forth across the country, adding a profit for each transfer, and selling it back to us for billions.

Of course, they'd lobby the administration to make sure their income for this venture was tax free, or better yet government subsidized, because they were the only ones capable of providing a commodity essential to our "American way of life"... Free speech. :(

Who's for banning books? Hint: It's not Bush or Ashcroft.

Hey RIP! That's right, I'm talking to YOU! post the link to where the info is on banning books or STFU

I didn't say that, but I'm saying it now. Kerry is a shoe in. Gore was too much of a tree hugger and a gun hater.... and he still almost won. This time it isn't even going to be close. While the fight in the so called swing states goes on us rednecks out in the boonies who have been ignored and neglected (by both sides) for so long are going to vote liberal this year and it will make the difference.

Just wait and see. :)

In this thread you can find 7 links to dmcowen cut/paste pieces; that are apparently acceptable as they are "anti-conservative".

People like you have no place in a civilized society. You should be ostracized from this place.
Typical leftist response here. All you want to do is get rid of the right wing.

Dumbass. What I want to get rid of is racist scum like you (unless you're implying all conservatives are racist, which I don't think is true by any means). I hope they keep hell hot for you. Isn't there a Klan meeting somewhere you could be attending right now?

Could not find the direct quote, maybe this will do.

Mr. Bush stopped short of condemning the anti-Kerry smear campaign, but he called for pulling all ''independent'' TV ads, on both sides, off the air.

linkage

White House press secretary Scott McClellan, has declined to condemn it, while saluting Kerry's service as honorable.

Looked for the direct quotes, but was unable to find them....

So, let me get this straight:

In your world, racist = right-wing, and anti-racist = left-wing?

Am I missing something? If I were a conservative I'd be all over your ass, even more than I am now, because I'd consider you an utter embarrassment. You are a skunk of the highest order.

Quite a bit. I follow the standard definitions of liberal and conservative. You are actually quite amusing, I suppose you don't want me thanking people for providing me with NFL and fast food. Fair enough, I suppose.
