It's curious that MSNBC would spend eight on-air, broadcast minutes devoted to exposing a supposed mistake and possible cover-up by a news analyst's team on another channel.

Disappointing the Bill screwed up and then tried to cover up. Lost some credibility in this instance. In our world its amazing what power and money can do to people.

Olberman....is a wantabe. Needs to go back to ESPN, enjoyed him in that scenerio much better than daily news.

So that isnt bannable anymore?

Good question. I myself wonder how homosexuality could possibly be thought of as automatically synonymous with ignorance.

Is Bill o' Lielly an AT member?

Sounds like Free speech to me.

Oh that's right, most Americans don't believe in that anymore, silly me.

Call him what you will, but I was just referring to the three letter word in bold above.

Olberman sucks at the daily news thing.

He's got great ratings (pdf warning). Top MSNBC ratings for April 2006...if that is saying something...

Eight minutes may be excessive, but correcting misinformation broadcast as news is just as newsworthy as firsthand, regular news reporting.

Yeah, it's kinda like talking about the biggest city in Wyoming. It's still apples and oranges next to cities in California or New York.

Maybe two years ago he became a complete pompous ass. Perhaps before then, he was only between 80 and 90%.

I hope the WWII vets or some aspect of them files a protest to faux news and their sponsors. And makes this protest very, very public, and why.

Why? O'Reilly already apologized for his mistake.

When did he do that? Do you mean when Fox News changed the transcript and Bill more or less denied what he said while answering an email?

I'm thinking the transcript screw-up was probably someone who had never heard of Malmedy and misheard him. Unless someone actually saw the original transcript did not say Normandy.

Can you show that the transcript has been altered (other than the differences on video and the transcript)? Did the transcript say Malmedy before and was changed to Normandy? Look at the bottom of the transcript and you'll see this:
Transcription Copyright 2006 Voxant, Inc. (www.voxant.com ), which takes sole responsibility for the accuracy of the transcription.

Voxant, btw, also provides the same services for MSNBC.

O'Reilly = MFing pwned. I wouldn't mind if someone took him to Malmedy and gave him a firsthand experience of what happened, I'm glad he got called out and I hope his ratings get shot to sht. ;)
