All with D governors who are probably not going to stand aside while a mob tries to steal the election in their state.

Meh, those are just examples. Point was that it'll be at the state/local level.

And, I'm not that sure even a D governor will matter if state houses are GQP. It's messy. Or will be.

So I just thought of this... You know how service and labor businesses have had a hard time finding people? What if a large chunk of those people were deported by Trump and before the full effect could be felt Covid hit giving cover when everything shutdown. The country starts to open back up and TADA labor shortage. Labor shortage and high demand give companies cover to raise prices and make huge profits. If Trump gets rid of more... you think food is expensive now...just wait for 4 more years of Trump.

So I just thought of this...
Post-COVID inflation was global. The disruption to the supply chain was huge.
Had nothing to do with anyone or their policy.

But if mass deportations do occur. Assuming it isn't met with violent resistance. Then sure, successfully sacking a bunch of American labor would be a large disruption to our supply of goods, thus raising our costs for some vital things.

Plus his high tariffs, its why a large majority of economists agree his economic plans will increase inflation significantly. We can see the trainwreck coming if he is elected.

Who would have thought that if you tackle the issues causing people to leave their countries and come to America they might stay put. Overall most people want to stay in their country, they don't want to leave. However if things become so bleak at home that you have no choice but to leave.

Part of Artiga’s newfound security is thanks to programs from the Glasswing Foundation, a Salvadoran nonprofit that has received some $60 million in funding as part of Vice President Kamala Harris’s assignment from President Biden. The idea: Put money in El Salvador and other northern Central American countries so that it is more attractive for young people to stay home than to try to cross the border.
Harris has recruited nonprofits and private companies, including Microsoft, Nestlé and PepsiCo, to invest $5.2 billion in the region to improve employment, education and living conditions. The effort was the vice president’s most direct involvement in the Biden administration’s immigration efforts, offering a glimpse into her record on an issue that has become a top concern for voters and vexed GOP and Democratic administrations.

I paid $2.82/gallon at my last gas fillup, how low do people want gas prices to go?

Groceries are indeed expensive but reasonable deals can still be had. $3/lb for chicken etc. I pay more for certain things because I like the quality

Inflation is down to target levels, rates are lowering, jobs market is fine (outside certain sectors like tech), real wages are up.

There’s a giant construction project ongoing down the street, road widening, new sidewalks and replacing bridges with a sign “Paid for by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act”

Kamala and Walz are out campaigning their asses off and being generally smart strategically

If they lose it won’t be because they didn’t try, and it certainly won’t be because of Biden’s policies or even the economic outcome of his term. It’ll just be because of vibes/feels and owning the libs I guess.

Remember when we were stabbing each other for toilet paper? Remember Trump withholding PPE and ventilators to “blue” cities and states? Remember Trump “solving” peace in the Middle East? Infrastructure week always two weeks away?
people won't be happy until gas is free. and i imagine that is driven (pun intended) in part by the fact that a car is a necessity for most people. its simply a fact of life in america outside a few select cities. so you have to buy the car, and then over its lifetime fuel is one of the most significant expenses.

i understand the sentiment, even if its completely illogical. if we built cities different (and paid people more), then the cost of fuel would have a less significant impact on people's finances.

When I tell people I purchased a EV and put solar panels on my house so I don't have to dependent on big energy for my families energy needs. It is like I have told them something that just completely destroys their little world.

A human lifetime in America on average lasts 4000 weeks.

It's hard to believe we've wasted 470 of those weeks underestimating some people.

It's beyond time to dump him and those like him in the trash bin of history!

Wouldn't you like to spend the rest of those weeks you have left in a better mood?

on the one hand, i see your point and acknowledge the possibility.

on the other hand, Harris is a career prosecutor. she knows how these kinds of games are played and prepares for them. i think the only one who might be similarly equipped to go on this kind of show would be Pete Buttigieg.
And both might be a bad idea? Joe is the prosecution AND the judge in that room. If the terms is set up so that it's not going to be organic it's a loss. If Joe wants to punch one for his boy Elon it's a loss.
Joe has been doing this for along ass time and it's not a court room.
The only angle I see here is that Joe might feel inclined to act in his daughters interest and not his own worst desire.
*shrugs*

I mean if he makes Kamala look good here he is gonna lose his gig at the UFC ffs. I dont think he has that in him.

This is... even more extreme than I thought on how we are living in 2 different universes in the U.S, split between reality, and Murdoch-Trump disinformation insanity-land. People who read or watch any actual news are somewhere between 2:1 and 10:1 in favor of Harris (that even includes USA Today and the center-right WSJ!).

People who watch 24-7 Murdoch propaganda and lies are not surprisingly more than 10:1 in favor of Trump. And I'd strongly guess that ABC/CBS/NBC are only 2:1 against Trump because it is skewed by folks that think they are watching ABC/CBS/NBC local news, but instead are watching pro-Trump news, mass force-fed by the extreme right-wing Sinclair disinformation network into local television stations.

No wonder I am registered as an independent, because I actually fall in the "Social Media or YouTube" and "Digital or Online News Category".

Or Ronald Prescott Reagan, who is Ronald Reagan's only liberal son. Rogan would have no choice but to agree with every thing that man says.

That requires some capital investment. It doesn’t even need to be that crazy. I’ve yet to meet anyone complaining about gas prices who isn’t driving a land yacht.

In 2006 when the gas crisis hit I happened to be driving a Jeep Cherokee that got something like 13 MPG so I learned the economics of it well. Ever since then I swore I would never get lured by momentarily low gas prices. Sold it and bought a Saturn SC2 5 speed for $1,500 that got me through college and then some with 40 MPG highway, I’ve been driving econoboxes ever since for my commuter car.

The inverse scale of miles PER gallon doesn’t help either, people don’t realize that going from 15 MPG to 25 MPG is way more impactful than going from 25 to 35. Other countries use the more intuitive Liters/100km

I mean if you hypothetically switch from a truck that gets 10 MPG to one that gets 20 MPG, you’ll never save that much gas again even if you get a truck that gets 999+ MPG.

Anyways. It doesn’t take big budgets or a big brain to buy an affordable high MPG car. Many of the cheapest cars also have the best mileage. I have zero sympathy for anyone complaining about gas prices while driving a gas guzzler for their daily commute. But here we are.

Edit: Not sure why I’m even bringing logic and reason into it when it’s about the feels. I’m guessing for most people, gas prices are at an all time low for the time they’ve had their vehicle. But there’s just a mental image of Dems causing high gas prices that “feels right”, so they just imagine the gas prices are high, I guess? Am I doing it right?

Trump's first trainwreck already happened. It's his new and improved immunity assisted MAGAt fueled train rapidly bearing down from the opposite direction with no sign of decelerating that's going to slam into his existing wreckage and kill us all.
