Longtime lurker but I just saw this and wanted to get your thoughts on this. You all have a lot more knowledge about this then me so I figured what the hell. Is this true? It makes sense but that could be my own bias surfacing.

Specifically regarding the R partisan pollsters dumping lots of numbers that are probably BS to tilt the averages yeah this is probably happening again but to a lesser extreme than in 2022. Only modestly moving the averages this time since they are putting out less outlandish Trump leads than they were for Rs in the midterms.

Whether or not Trump is actually losing his campaign and affiliated groups are certainly acting like they think he is losing.

When you're winning there's no point in flooding the zone with shit because you want the signal (that you're winning) to come through.

Yeah there is this line of thought. Another is that they are trying to create the impression that he's going to win to depress D turnout.

I'm not sure that's effective though since it definitely did not work in 22.

But there are more of them now. The majority of polls are now GQP funded propaganda.

Well Trafalgar is back after roundly humiliating themselves in 2020. I think its at least half by number of firms but maybe more by number of polls produced.

"MAGA aren't trying to win, they are trying to lay the groundwork to claim they didn't lose." That's exactly it.

That explains the thoughts I've had..

Trump's gained some voters here in NY due to Adams/ Hochul making a mess of things here but other than that.. has he gained any real support? I don't think so.

And you see enthusiasm for Kam.. at rallies.. young women in this day and age really don't like Trump taking their rights away.. they're not turning into Trumpers so what the hell is this polling garbage these firms keep putting out?

1. Either garbage or
2. gaza related voter loss

Nothing even remotely close to saying Trump is actually gaining voters other than the gaza issue.

The whole idea of Trump gaining voters over Gaza makes no sense unless your argument is that American foreign policy has been to favorable to the Palestinians and that the public is itching for Israel to 'finish the job' to use Trump's words.

I think it's smart for Kamala to go on Rogan within a certain framework of some rules. But I find it extremely sad for this country that an ethical and intelligent presidential candidate has to go on a podcast of a complete conspiracy theorist loon who is almost never based in facts, to try to win an election. It's just sad that this is where decency has to stoop so low. I mean this country is just gone down the tubes, thanks to the morally bankrupt Republican party.

Have to go talk to the last of the disconnected gettable voters that exist so it definitely makes sense. As much as I don't care for Rogan I think Fox is much worse in that they are actively and maliciously trying to help elect a fascist and lying non-stop to America to do it.

I agree - Rogan is just an idiot seeking attention and money. He doesn’t seem to have much of an agenda outside of his own stupidity and he doesn’t seem to actively attempt to mislead his listeners. (I think he does that instead through laziness and indifference)

Fox and conservative media exist for the primary (and sometimes sole) purpose of getting Republicans elected. They are very comfortable with deliberately lying to their audience.

I’ll always remember that bit by a former right wing news guy who was like ‘of course we were lying to our audience. We assumed the mainstream media was doing that for Democrats so we had to do it too’ only to then go work for a mainstream news organization and find out that’s not how real news works at all and they are for the most part genuinely trying to get it right.

At least nobody can accuse her of not trying.

I do not think it’s smart. Zero Rogan listeners will vote for her and it’s a HUGE opportunity for a gotcha moment.

Fox was playing on the tv at a diner where I was lunching. A poll was flashed on the screen showing that god fearing white Christians were voting for Trump while black Christians, Jews, and atheists were voting for Harris. Fox then convened a round table of Christian preachers and one "Christian influencer*" to discuss why atheists supported Harris. It was every bit as stupid as one might imagine. They were all in agreement that atheists support Harris because they are baaaad people. The preachers didn't seem to notice that each of them was going to straight to hell in the judgement of all the other preachers. Fox is a 24/7 mind fuck.

*To be honest, I'm not sure what the difference is between a preacher and a Christian influencer.
