I mostly shop on ebay/ Walmart. Amazon only if I have to.. some of their stuff is still good.

What other places are you getting stuff from?

Oh and I try and avoid newegg now but sometimes they still have nice deals!

Kind of a mix and some of it is in person now that I convinced my husband to use Costco. A lot of Chewy for cat stuff because they actually have stock of what I need at times when Amazon does not and also use their pharmacy. A lot more stuff directly from the companies that make it now too.

Honestly the buying experience there has gone to total shit in the past few years. Have ended up ordering from other retailers more lately because of it and sometimes its even cheaper.
Yeah, rather than my first instinct being to just order something from Amazon like it used to be, my first instinct is now "where can I get this that isn't Amazon?"

This is very unlikely. You'd be seeing a major collapse in state and district polls which does not exist.

Something weird with the sample probably. I am pretty dubious about a 4 point national swing in two weeks.
Well you see, Trump served fries at McDonalds so that’s +2 points

Meanwhile Obamna couldn’t even rap Eminem’s full discography, so that’s -2 points for Kamala

Waiting for more info, but initial news implies it was only caught because it came as a huge batch at the deadline. I sure hope they are looking back for any other large batches that came in earlier.

They are going to look at this very closely across the state. Most of the speculation is on Scott Presler's org. Turning Point is probably not stupid enough to do something like this. Elon's outfit a wild card possibility.

Michael Moore predicted MI for Trump before the 2020 general in a hall setting in MI, raising eyebrows and, I'm assuming, gasps. He's predicting MI for Harris this time.

Seeing Moore's glum facial expression at 8PM Pacific Time on election night network election coverage in 2016 (he was in-studio) I knew a dark cloud was passing over America that wouldn't budge for 4 years.
Thought he predicted Biden to win MI in 2020 and that he was predicting MI for Trump in 2016 when no one though it could happen with MI part of the Clinton firewall.

They all, probably correctly, assume if Trump wins they'll be punished directly for endorsing Harris. If Harris wins nothing will happen because she's not an authoritarian with delusions of being the next Hitler. The reputational damage for those institutions is however not repairable.

It's just survival instincts. They see the writing on the wall after Kamala's latest town hall and significant slippage in polls nationally.

Hedging against a Trump presidency costs them nothing but credibility. Harris isn't going to pull Jeff's contracts if she wins.

Even though I have the Washington Post for $4 a month for a year I'm still going to cancel. The only major news site I will continue to subscribe to is the guardian

Kamala is supposed to be in Houston tonight at the Shell Energy Stadium (Basketball). Seats 20K. Beyoncé is reportedly going to perform.

The seating maybe a problem because they’ve had over a million folks signup.

It’s interesting that’s she’s coming to Texas. I don’t know if it’s a foolish waste of time better spent in swing states, her internal polling suggests Texas is potentially in play, or if it’s to help Allred beat Cruz.

I don't know what the internal polling says, but the probability of TX being in play is quite low.
The odds of Allred pushing Cruz to the brink is a bit better, but still not good.

Maybe she knows she could be in trouble in WI, MI so she needs to get 25 EV somewhere else and she's expanding the map or hoping to?

I’m more of the mind it helps Allred which keeps the senate control door open a crack, shows she not afraid to go to red states, it gets her free press, and it shows that red states love her with a packed stadium which might grab some more undecideds.

Someone said today on the Majority Report that a week ago something was worrying them that undecideds were 32-30 and the polls were basically even.

But since then it seems she's gotten to 41-32 in undecideds so a big batch has gone her way recently. Still a lot of undecided's up for grabs though and could break either way!

Presumably this was integrated into other necessary cross-country travel (AZ?). So it takes a few hours to detour into Houston and rally tens of thousands? Although it would be the height of folly to adopt Hillary's 2016 "expand the map" strategy, a one-off trip to H-Town is fine. Some people can indeed walk and chew gum at the same time.

I certainly wouldn't overdo it though. Only 7 states matter this time, although not getting smoked in the Senate is certainly another valid concern. By the numbers, Allred has a better shot than Sen. Tester does in MT.

Well she sure isn't going to FL. Big picture the Dems need to contend for TX on the statewide level in the future. For her I think the earned media and attention on reproductive rights is probably worth it. Anyway she's not having rallies in multiple states she absolutely will not win like Trump is.

Already canceled mine. I don’t really read it anymore anyway and giving Bezos less money is always nice

actually I had a special $1.99 a month Washington Post subscription until next September, just cancelled.

While Prime here is mostly excellent, I am going to strongly consider cancelling again. Just signing up for the last season of The Boys, and the next season of Rings of Power.

Also just donated another 40 bucks via ActBlue.

Sometimes it's also important to buy yourself something so you don't go insane and super depressed at the state of the race and how Vance & Musk & Trump have a real shot to wreck everything I hold dear.

To keep positive.. 4 years ago I bought a watch for myself and this year I bought another one.. didn't plan on becoming a watch enthusiast but apparently it's my copium to not becoming full @gotnoeggs.

All for a promise of lowering inflation and launching mass deportation systems of the people poisoning our blood and eating our dogs, cats and other pets.

There's lies, there's damned lies and there's Republicans.
That's because people are stupid. They don't understand that inflation isn't going much lower than it already is, and the current higher prices are hear to stay. What they think will happen, and they think lower inflation is, is actually deflation. If we go thru a cycle of deflation, it most likely will destroy our economy, cause massive unemployment, Stock markets would crash taking the majority of the nations retirement with it, salary cuts across the nation, and most likely create another great depression.

Amazon prime is generally not worth the money IMO. I only get it when I have free trials.

Plus, many other retailers have similar or better pricing, and less chance of getting some fraudulent product as Amazon makes it harder to tell if you are buying from a 3rd party or garbage mixed inventory issues. Plus, if I avoid Amazon, I can use various shopping portals to rack up AA miles for another free trip or extra cash back on a CC.

The only reason I haven't cancelled WaPo or NYT is because they are so cheap if you threaten to cancel, and I like the times for the stupid games and cooking sections. But they keep tempting me with their cowardly bullshit.

Prime is really good here, and competitive price-wise, but I just cancelled anyway. I need to shop less as it is, and I will support other retailers like Jenson and others for bike stuff, Chewy and Costco for all my pet needs, and look at other options. I've cancelled before for half a year stretches but I hope to go longer.

Unfortunately, I will still have to shop at Whole Foods for a lot of things. I wish Sprout grocery stores would start opening up around here, which reminds me, I gotta send them an email.

Prime is fine here, but I always found that free shipping without prime was often almost as fast. And not having prime makes me look to additional retailers to support, even if some are large national or regional chains too. And $150/yr pays for a fair amount of quicker shipping when I need it.

There is a Whole Foods in my town, but it's more expensive than the Albertsons nameplate store here, and the quality isn't better.
