They would have to give a shit first. Every election we see just how little the youth of America cares. Why would we let them run the country if we can't trust that they will spend a few hours of their day every other year to do the very minimum needed to keep it running?

That is exactly why,

every 2 to 4 years is a low expectation that results in lower participation, people who are involved in their community and vote regularly in local elections is what we should aspire to, but in today's it's all about me first reactionary society it seems people only wake up when their lack of participation affects them directly, by then it's too little too late usually.

Why is the world run by these ancient geezers? All they've done for 80 years is F everything up.

Young people should rise up and take over. We are stronger than them. We can beat them up and take back the country. Physically.

I would like to explore this. I'm not nearly 80 but I'm not young by any standard. I'm not going to report you or fuss if you don't wuss out but I might give you lots of shit as it suits me if you run.

As a 60 something, how would you go about beating me up? Not a trick question at all, let's call this a hypothetical so you'll be safe.

I'm walking down the street and you see me. For you own hypothetical purposes how would you go about the attack? You are certainly younger and you claim to be stronger. You even have the advantage that I cannot run for long at all so catching me is simplicity itself. Now you have me. What do you do? I expect a response to such a bold statement from you, unless you are now fearful.

Man, this sucks. My daughter's daycare was celebrating superhero day today, so we put our 20 month old in an RBG shirt (black shirt with collar and necklace) and did up her hair. I drop her off and hear the news on the radio.

As much as I want her to pull through and sit on the bench forever, she needs to do what's best for her and her health. No shame in retiring if that's what she needs to do. If Trump had any decency, he would nominate Merrick Garland to fill her seat (at least for some quid pro quo from Pelosi) but I'm not holding my breath. If RBG steps down, I'm 100% convinced Trump would nominate a woman to succeed her-- probably Amy Coney Barrett.

I never pictured you as 60-something

-Never fight an old man, cause if he's too tired to fight you, he'll just kill you.

More seriously, I appreciate the role of older folks in our system. Our whole schtick here in the US is to make it difficult for things to happen, and it's good to have some perspective, wisdom, and frankly conservatism as a bulwark against spiraling unchecked progress that can do just as much harm as good.

Problem is, those folks should be the check, not the idea guys.

If Trump had balls he’d nominate Hillary to repair part of the bridge.
Not that I think there is any chance in hell that would happen or the R Senate would approve.

Amy Coney Barrett

Will she take Trump's position over the Constitution and establish law? Will she swear loyalty to him?

If not then she's a non starter. Trump appointed a fraudster thug to oversee Mueller. Why should the trend not continue? He's threatened to let the nation burn before helping Dems unless they protect him. Moderation from a blackmailer? Well I suppose it's possible if he can get something from her

They don't tape broken ribs so much any more. Makes it hard to breath.

A friend of mine fractured his ribs, but also bruised his lung in the process. It caused pneumonia...

Trump is 72 years old and has never once shown any tendency towards decency, and has in fact stated that he thinks doing the decent thing is stupid, why would you expect him to start being decent now?

If RBG steps down, I'm 100% convinced Trump would nominate a woman to succeed her-- probably Amy Coney Barrett.

What in Trumps words or actions make you think that? I do not think Trump believes diversity to be a good thing. I doubt he would give it any consideration in this picks.

New Rule: If Trump gets to appoint another SC justice during his time in office, Religious people have to stop claiming there is a GOD.

Yeah I broke 3 ribs last November due to a horrible chest infection. They don't tape any more as it limits your ability to breathe deep and that can cause lung infections to get worse/pneumonia etc...

Worse F'ing pain I've ever had. had to sleep on the couch sitting upright in the corner with my left arm up on the side. That's how I sat for weeks. Got maybe 20 minutes of sleep every few hours. That mixed with the Codeine and morphine they put me on was a fun few days.

How to take out a 60 year old? Just get a bunch of Cracker Barrel coupons and toss them into a high traffic street.

How soon before Trump reminds us he can pick another SC justice? Tact has never been his strong suit.

Problem is they have the senate and they give no fucks about consistency, nor does anyone who votes for them

Yes, I know they'll try to know say it's about the Senate majority. I think Democrats should try to pack the court no matter what, but this may make them wring their hands even more.
