Well you did oversimplify what he said a bit.

What he actually said was:

Donald Trump loses to Joe Biden.
Mitch McConnell loses his seat.
The Democrats take back the Senate. ( I assume they retain the House )
Before the Democrats are sworn in RBG passes away.

I'm not saying it isn't possible. Just a stretch.
The timing is reasonably possible.

If the timing happens it's a lock Moscow Mitch will do it.

If RBG can not continue on the high court for whatever reason, guess what republicans promised that they will do....

Democrats never fully understand exactly who they are dealing with when they deal with republicans. Come-on democrats..... You should know a party that would suppress the vote to win an election by cheating would do anything to get their way and that most certainly includes installing one of Trump's court nominees during a lame duck secession.

So youre not surprised republicans are liars, destroying their own stated "precedent". Good for you old timer.

I didn't phrase it like that as all politicians are liars to a more or less degree. Usually more if it suits their needs. As for their own stated precedent about not appointing a SCOTUS Justice during an election year they should in my opinion stick to that. Then the voters will have a voice in the appointment with their vote.

As I have stated many times. I'm sure either party would grasp this perceived advantage if given the opportunity to appoint a SCOTUS Justice during an election year. Even down to the last day available.

This is why democrats have tried to pull a Fascist-Trump every chance they get right? There is a billion examples that bothsides is not true. Depraved American Taliban aka the GOP.

That is easy to say, but history does not agree with you. It has only happened twice, but both times that a Democratic President with a Democratic Senate had a SC vacancy in his last year of his term the Democratic Senate refused to confirm the appointment until after the new President was sworn in. All Three times the Republicans had that opportunity they confirmed the Republican Presidents nomination.

I'm not trying to say Democrats are better then Republicans, the reality is that those parties of the past do not really resemble the parties that we have today. What I am trying to say is that this idea of 'win at all costs' is not the norm for American Politics. This is a new development, and it does not have to be this way. The team sports politics is killing our democracy.
